    He fought a lot of big punchers

    Sanders
    Peter - Marion Wilson said Peter was the hardest puncher he ever fought and that's extremely high praise when you look at his insane CV
    Haye
    Brewster
    Ibragimov - some idiot over at The Scene said he was feather fisted. Go ask people who shared a ring with him about how highly they rated his power. Sultan could really crack
    Povetkin
    AJ
    Rahman
    DaVaryl Wiliamson
    Derrick Jefferson
    Mercer

    Even the likes of McCline who didn't have a high KO percentage but was a huge guy could display big power sometimes. Same goes for Ross Puritty, Chagaev, and numerous others he fought.

    And in case any of you cynics think Sprott is just singing Sander's praises and complimenting his power because he died (RIP). Nope Sanders was still very much alive when he first said them.

    It's between Joshua and Sanders for me.

    I think in terms of sheer power it's Joshua he's just so much bigger and stronger but Sanders was the better puncher. His counter straight left was just vicious, so fast and effective against aggressive opponents. Sometimes the timing and speed of a punch makes it more effective than a harder punch.

    There's no way that Corrie Sanders hit harder than Anthony Joshua or David Haye, the Corrie Sanders nuthugging
    needs to stop, he was a fringe contender with a good win against an overwhelmed pre-prime Wladimir Klitschko.
    He done nothing before or after that win to suggest that he hit harder than Anthony Joshua or David Haye.

    David Haye? A heavy hitting HW? Hmm. There's no way that David Haye hit harder than Alexander Povetkin, period. He had done nothing in the division before or after that loss to suggest he hit harder than Povetkin or Samuel Peter.

    Sanders had absolutely excellent potential, but cared little for boxing, but his golf swing was professional level. Whether or not he was a contender I don't think matters when it comes to his hand speed and power. He had both in abundance, but no chin, training, stamina, or love for the sport.
