Julian Jackson`s punches had more effct on opponents P4P than Naz, not much could match his come from behind KO over Graham and Tommy Hearns knocking out Duran and Schuler outdoes any Hamed KO P4P also, Hearns knocked out Andries at light heavy that would be like Naz moving up to light middle and knocking out a world champ, wouldn`t have happened.

Terry McGovern is a consideration too.

Then it must be Aurelio Herrera.

He and McGovern, were the Tyson and the Shavers of that era respectively!

Herrera is a great shout. I think Esparragoza was a great puncher. Any more astute followers of Young Corbett II know if he was a great puncher? He whipped McGovern and had a lot of knockouts for a small guy.

On pure power it's gotta be Danny Lopez.

Consider that Little Red didn't have the technique, accuracy, and offensive talent of Arguello nor did he possess the speed and unorthodox angles of Hamed.

Lopez had Foreman-like power in that he hit guys with glancing blows that didn't look like much, and opponents went flying.

He was a freak of a puncher.

Hamed sometimes he seemed off balance where most guys wouldn't be able to generate power but would drop guys dead. Massive talent shame it ended how it did for him with more discipline and less reliance of natural gifts he could have been one of the greats. Sad seeing him at fights now looking 250lbs.

Hamed had crazy power and could throw power punches from crazy angles which also left him extremely open to counter shots.

I find knockout percentages are misleading. For example, Sandy Saddler had a knockout percentage of just under 72% whereas Sal Sanchez had a knockout percentage of just under 73%. But Sanchez scored 32 KOs in 44 wins and Saddler scored 104 KOs in 145 wins!

Who do you think was the greater puncher?

Still hard to say for me off of that. Many guys KO opposition until they are fighting championship caliber opposition and then it declines. I would be interested (but don’t feel like looking lol) what their ko % was in title fights or against ranked opposition....and/or the rounds they KO’d them in. To me a KO in 1-5 is more reflective of power and 11-15 many times is conditioning and fatigue related.

KO% is not the best indicator of power, that sounds like a statement a casual fan would make.

Sanchez wasn't remotely close to Arguello as a puncher, although, in his defense, Sanchez's power is very underrated.

But still, he didn't punch like Arguello.
