I think Haye showed us he could punch pretty good at any weight and he actually did much better than the 6"7 Vitali and 6"7 Helenius against Chisora and Haye rocked the 7 foot Vaulev

 

I think a lot of it these days is that weight training in school blows these kids up young and a natural welter-middleweight becomes a 200lber. Take a fit guy like Dempsey at 190lbs, he had the boxing muscle that was needed but did not carry extra weight,same with Louis and the same with Walcott and Dempsey used wall pullies but weight training was a no no for boxers. I dont think there are many kids these days that have never touched weights

 

Holyfield should count as a fearsome puncher but never was regarded as such in his career.

Haye is probably the most notable cruiser puncher who has transitioned.

 

James Toney got a lot of guys respect at heavy. He bust Holyfield.

Huck had pop against Povetkin and nearly stopped him.

 

Earnie Shavers (who is a heavyweight legend as a puncher) could not ko Vicente Rondon in 10 rounds yet Benny Briscoe Jose Gonzales and Bob Foster did the trick....I think the fact that Jack (your hero) Johnson got dropped by a middleweight and KO'd by one (Choynski) is an indicator of your own deluded hero worship it did take the larger Willard a while to drop JJ
