You haven't really answered the question, and I understand that because, their careers are contradictory imo.

N.B. Moore' s heavyweight stoppages aren't too special imo.

    I did answer your question.

Moore at HW. And at LHW, who can say. We have more footage of Foster but Moore's sound as every bit as brutal. I think Moore fought the tougher competition at LHW as well.

They are more special than anything Foster has. Foster does not even have a HW KO as impressive as Davidson.

-Foster's inability to translate his power to HW is irrelevant to Moore, who's power did translate to HW. Ali did not laugh at Moore's power, he was visibly rocked a few times in the second round and according to one poster in this thread admitted to being hurt.

-RING ranked Walcott as an all time great heavyweight puncher and a top P4P puncher.

I disagree that Ali was ever rocked by Foster, or Moore.

With respect I don't think you did.

I could turn this on its axis and say some guys went the distance with Archie at 175lbs that I would confidently expect Foster to take out .

Than you disagree with Ali himself.

One of the right crosses that caught him in the second round. You can see him go on his bicycle in that round after getting caught flush.

"My legs got rubbery. I was dizzy. But I couldn't let Archie know I was hurt."

I can't repeat the same answer over and over again. I said Moore at HW. And LHW, no idea. Probably equal.

Well, easy to say that. I think Moore could take out anyone Foster did.

I agree, my point was that along with his very real stoppages over good heavyweights Moore had a lot of dross, had Foster fought them I would have expected the same results.
Moore doesn't have much in the way of signature stoppages at heavyweight ,granted Foster has none but eg had Foster fought those 4 wrestlers Moore did ,that would have been another 4 kos on his resume imo .

Foster kod journeymen heavyweights, he just couldn't make it against the better guys because his physique meant he couldn't take the heat from the classier bigger men.

-Again, as does every HW with lots of knockouts.

-Only the really lower tier ones.

-He does. You just don't awknowledge them.

-At a lower % than Moore. He also couldn't stop Whitehurst.

-He couldn't seem to hurt them either. Moore did.

I don't think there is any comparison between between Moore and Foster as punchers. Moore is in a solid tier higher as a proven puncher.

Looking at the Boxing Register, Moore had ten victories over heavyweights who were rated when he fought them, and twenty-six victories over heavyweights who ever rated in The Ring's yearly rankings.

Foster has no wins over a heavyweight rated when he fought them, and only one over an ever-rated heavyweight--a fading Willi Besmanoff.

There is nothing in Foster's resume to compare with Moore's stoppages of Jimmy Bivins. Bivins was stopped 2 times in 108 non-Moore fights, by the much bigger and brutal punching Lem Franklin, and by Ezzard Charles. Moore stopped Bivins three times in four fights.

Foster lost to most of his tougher opponents. He biggest KO was of a 39 year old blown up middleweight Dick Tiger. His other opponents were old and ordinary, Eddie Cotton and Henry Hank, or young and ordinary, Mike Quarry and Mark Tessman. Vincente Rondon had already been stopped twice at middleweight, including by the ordinary Jose Gonzalez.

Bottom line for me. I would favor Moore to KO any opponent Foster managed to defeat. He knocked out bigger and better opponents over a much longer and more proven career.

Favoring Foster against Moore's much bigger or much better victims, like Bivins, Baker, Lavorante, or Harold Johnson is simply giving him credit in fantasy for doing something he didn't come close to doing in his real career.

I don't think so. Wasn't Foster the only man to cut Ali with a punch? One over the eye that required 6 stitches. Not a happy bunny with that self proclaimed " pretty face "

BIG DIFFERENCE between the 2, Moore far superior and proven puncher.... Bob Foster was also stopped by the smaller Doug Jones and Fosters power just did NOT equate into the heavyweight division....Moores did and did well :good

Marciano couldnt hurt or floor Lowry in 2 fights. Moore beat him in a good fight but neevr dropped him .

Harry Mathews Rusty Payne and Lee Q Murray did,Murray had him down 7 times! 179lbs Mathews took him out in 5 rds.Payne knocked him out with one left hook. What's your point?:huh

Evander had trouble putting middleweight Bobby Cyz on the floor but KO'd Tyson in his next fight. Lowry was an experienced survivor but I think you mentioned every time he was stopped in over 100+ battles which was not many. Earnie Shavers is known as the elite puncher but he could not stop Vicente Rondon who was previously KO'd by Benny Briscoe,Jose Gonzales and Bob Foster

Whitehurst wasn't my entire point. You just ignored my entire post and focused on that statement as if it was my entire basis of thought when it clearly was not. It was a response to your theoretical proposoal of Foster knocking out the journeyman that Moore did.
