    Well, I won't comment on the Hurtado fight, since I don't have it fresh in memory. But that is just what Im saying, the fight was at the end of the rope for Pernell, just a fight or two before his last good performance against Oscar. The last fights are what stays in memory, and of course he is going to seem less impressive then.

    But I won't argue that against Mayweather being better defensively, the man was truly outstanding.

    Locche may have been a defensive genius but it only counts if you are actually trying to score and win. Locche would do nothing for an entire fight but duck, slip, bob, and run only to get a gift decision. Its bull**** to say he toyed with Cervantes in their first fight. He did nothing in that fight. Cervantes was the only guy trying to win. Locche just clowned and barely threw punches.

    I agree. Whitaker wasn`t the same from about 95 on. He was still able to win fights but in his prime he was as elusive as they come.
