Who was the more destructive WBO belt holder, Michael Moorer or Sergay Kovalev? I see a lot of parallels with these two fighters. Who in your opinion was more destructive with more upside? Vote and discuss.

Moorer really was a KO machine as a LH.Krusher has a ways to go to get into this territory.

    Moorer probably.
And he did very well at HW although he didn't carry his power up.

How much did Moorer weigh after rehydration? Wasn't he a massive 175 pounder who used to cut a lot of weight?

I havent seen nothing of MM at light heavy. Wouldn't mind seeing some fights. His record is impressive at light heavy but there is no marqee names.

I dont think the WBO belt was that recognised when Moorer was champion

Kovalev has a long way to go before he can even be mentioned in the same breath as Moorer. As discussed above, Moorer won all twenty-two of his light-heavyweight fights by stoppages and didn't lose until he was the heavyweight champ and lost to Foreman, including a win over a prime Holyfield.

True, but Kov has fought slightly better comp overall I think. Moore R's power and southpaw stance were a tough combination though.

I think the best name at that point was Frankie Swindell. Moored was very avoided back then.

You're to young to remember the era. Boxrec doesn't cut here. I think Kov has beaten better overall fighters, but that really isn't the discussion. Have you ever seen Moored fight at 175? Which fights?

Look at their records at the time they faced Moorer not at the end of their careers. smh Stewart had a victory over Marvin Johnson and had held the belt at 175.

I'm not saying he beat anyone better than Stewart, only that his overall comp at 175 is slightly better.
