You're certainly suggesting he should have. Do you have a link to the Hill-Moorer contract yet? If not your argument is null and void. Now how about answering my question of the Stevenson-Sergay comparison? Chop, chop!!

Your point is that Hill agreed to fight Moorer after Hill and Hearns should Hill win and your proof is Arum's word, lmao.

Last Friday night Steward received a call from promoter Bob Arum, the president of Top Rank, who told him that the Hill-Moorer fight had been made. Arum told Steward that HBO was close to buying the fight, and Arum hoped to hold it in March at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Hill would receive $750,000, up a half-million from his previous best purse.

"We're only taking $500,000," says Steward, "just to get Hill in the ring. This is what the light heavyweight division needs: one super champion."

Herbie Lembeck, Las Vegas's top boxing odds-maker, says that Hill, a good boxer and fair puncher, and Moorer, a devastating puncher, would be a pick-'em fight. Either of them would be a 7-to-5 favorite over Williams, a competent boxer with a porcelain chin. Andries the Elder would be a 10-1 underdog against any of the three. And Nelson, the IBC champ? "I wouldn't open my blinds if he fought in my backyard," says one wit.

Hill, however, is still trying to negotiate a fight with Tommy Hearns, a former Steward fighter who briefly held the WBC light heavyweight championship in 1987.
Hearns, 32, reportedly demanded $8 million to meet Hill, but has since dropped that to $3 million. He will have to go lower if he wants to fight Hill.

"It's Hill or no one." said Steward of Moorer's preferred opponent: "We are no longer interested in fighting any of the other champions. If not Hill, Mike moves up to heavyweight."

Hill is the man. He negotiated fights with Hearns and Moorer:lol:

So you can't find any post where I even suggested Moorer stay at LHW?

My argument was Hill did not duck Moorer, and have provided a credible source that states an offer was made and both parties had agreed to stipulations.

Yeah, they post boxing contracts online all the time.

-And Steward and Sports Illustrated who no doubt confirmed the quotes with both parties before printing such a thing. More credible than the speculations of keyboard warriors 25 years after the fact.

-Hill and Hearns negoitated for almost a full year prior to this article, it was an on going drama that didn't appear to be going anywhere until they met at an airport and hammered out the deal in person circa December 90, you would know that if you followed things then. I posted some links to articles on it on the other page if you need a refresher, just don't get confused again...links can be real tough to figure out.....

    I see no schooling.

I see 3 or possibly one or two posters with different names making utter fools of themselves, despite trying oh so hard.

I only see two, you and aquaqueen. Just admit the original premise of the thread is a close call and we'll have found common ground.

Oh I never said it wasn't close.

It's when you start calling a fearless Hall of Fame fighter like Virgil Hill a ****roach running on the wall because you are trying to make a stronger case for Moorer....that doesn't sit well with me. You have made no case for Hill ducking Moorer.

You really don't believe that, which is why you hate me so much. It must be painful to be made a fool when one's self esteem stems so much from a boxing forum that frankly has seen better days.

I can live without this place, I hope you can.
