Funny you should mention Kevin Howard. if Howard werent so undersized, I think he wouldve taken Leonard in that fight.

Leonard was indeed the much beefier of the two, the much stronger between them as anyone can plainly see.

However, it was Leonard's heart that was the smaller of the two becuz it was Leonard who quit

I'm not picking on the guy but that was not what we in the game call toughness.

Most fans I've talked to still can't give me a straight answer as to why he quit then with a lucrative Hagler fight in the wings :huh

I dont even understand why anyone would still question my position

here's something most people dont know. In a late 1981 Boxing Illustrated mag, Hagler on the cover, and months away from his press release of the eye injury, Ray already stating that he would call it a day after a match with Pipino Cuevas, and establishing his intention. He didnt want to fight anymore

this explains his reluctance in taking the Hagler fight (I CANT I CANT I CANT) for all those years. he just wanted an easy fight w faded Cuevas coming off a loss to Stafford

See? He's just WEAK. He didnt have to make up a story about his eye just to get out of it

Don't get me wrong. I think his accomplishments were the beginning of a promising career, but you just dont stop where you should be pressing your reputation as a conqueror

If you say you think you can beat Hagler while doing the commentary during one of his fights, you don't back out of it by fight's end the way Leonard did

In all honesty Duranimal, I only consider RL a near great at best, and put him in the same pack as Trinidad, Paq, people like that

a little less excuses and a little more fighting would have silenced his critics, not a split dec over a badly deteriorated, pathetically slow Hagler

Wins over a trim, athletic, dangerous, hard to hit, red hot, streaking, 1989 Micheal Nunn or blazing fast Terry Norris would have impressed

This picture is not level. To level it,it has to be turned counterclockwise a bit.

So in other words, you can't provide a credible source? Typical of you,you complete and utter slob.It isn't asking much, yet you can't do it - just another of the many lies you've conjured up in an attempt to defame your idols great tormentor.

Why did Duran come in at just 156 against Barkley? I mean, there certainly wasn't any pre-arranged catchweight in that case,so why come in so light? You don't think it had something to do with the fact that Duran felt comfortable at that weight,do you? Or was Duran also weight drained and forced to come in at a lighter weight against Barkley, too?

By the way, does Duran only gain several hundred pounds when it comes to fighting Ray Leonard? Motivated, primed and ready to beat up on a sliding Cuevas,to poke a green Davey Moore in the eye,and to barely edge Iran Barkley, but a complete slob and washout in regards to fighting arguably the best fighter that he had ever faced - is that it? Or was four months(the fight had been agreed upon by the end of July) simply not enough time to train for poor Robertina?

U could add that Moore came injured into that fight as well. If I remember correctly from an interview he gave.

Duran also fought other people u know , people like Castro , Sims & Barkley , whom were much younger and sometimes bigger than d fab 4 , and he did it by being d oldest and d smallest out of d fab 4 , while d rest of them whom were both younger and bigger than him , wouldn't have fought those 3 , except of Hearns , who fought Barkley & Sims .
I need 2 watch the Sims fights , but Duran did absolutely better than d much bigger Hearns against Barkley , whom in Hearns' defense , might have been severely drained vs Duran.
This could have been a nice reply , but it isn't , because Hearns was 7 years younger than Duran. See , Duran fought to the latest age out of them , which has some importance. But then how does 1 factor in layoffs , like d 1s Leonard had for example ?

major edit : I would have probably not posted my original reply this came along with MAG1965's post I originally replied to :
my original reply is from here on regarding the below post which came prior 2d above

Leonard stopped Hearns in their first fight , Hearns deserved 2 get d decision in their rematch when Leonard was old.

Leonard did better than Hearns vs Benitez.

Hearns' decision win over Virgil Hill is a better achievement than anything
Leonard ever did above 160 though , But then Hearns was bigger than Leonard.

So going according 2 your criteria presented in your post , Leonard was more complete than Hearns.
