Hearns stands out as the least complete out of the four, although he wasn't one-dimensional either.

But Leonard, Duran, and Hagler strike out to me as three of the most versatile and complete fighters you'll see.

Whom of them do you feel was the most complete fighter?

Hearns was the most freakish - in terms of size, speed and power. I would say he was a complete fighter - he could box beautifully and go to war. But he was the most vulnerable by far obviously.

Hagler, Duran and Leonard were all complete fighters. They were all something special. Who was the most complete? Impossible to say really. You could make a case for each of them.

Hagler. He's got skills, heart and mental fortitude.

Leonard was a beautiful fighter. He could punch with power to head and body, he had a lovely jab, he had combinations and speed of hand and foot, stamina, chin, toughness. He could box superbly, he could brawl, he had a really good defence as well as offence and he could box then brawl - he could adapt. I'd go Leonard.

+ srl had like 30 fights, duran 100+.... durable muhfugga

I'd probably go with this. Hagler was/is a favourite of mines so it pains me to go for SRL.

I'm going for Duran as the most complete, while Hagler is my favorite fighter of those 4 (actually one of my favorites of all time).

    duran beat leonard

duran took hagler to the wire outside his weight class

and he only got smashed by lanky tommy hearns, also outside his weight class. but both those fighters he took to the wire outside his weight class smashed hearns IN HIS OWN weight class lol.... he also smashed iran barkley outside his weight, and barkley stopped hearns

duran was a savage and the best, most durable of the fab four

tommy hearns got KOd like 4 times and now nobody mentions him as best of the 4 lol... poor guy

  14. hearns is a awesome boxer and I like him the most of the four.
He is p4p 1/2 ever at 147 for me.
But its not weird though that he is not rated higher then hagler or srl. allthough he schooled leonard before the tko in fight 1 and won the second but was robbed, ktfo duran and lost to hagler.
Those guys all have a claim to be better then the other.
To answer the thread this is simple: ray leonard of course! he was the compelte package.

The way Hagler could so easily box or brawl with equal brilliance makes him a superbly complete and well-rounded fighter. The way Leonard could fight in the trenches (Duran 1) or dance on his toes (Duran 2) make him the most chameleon-like of the four, but he wasn't as textbook perfect as Hagler IMO. The way Duran dominated and destroyed more or less everything in his path in the 70s make him the most effective, as I have him down as the best lightweight ever, I can't say the same about Hagler or SRL in their natural classes.

    Three of history's elite, ability-wise.
