When David and Shannon were headding in paralell lines towards the top say in (93, 94, 95...) I was starting to see Briggs as the shining light by a tiny margin.. Davids conditioning slightly bothered me, Then Shannon ran into Darroll Wilson on that show where David shone v Ruiz... That was the definite point the major questions were answered for me.. The puzzling part was .. How in gods name did Ruiz get on a winning run and keep in his zone to the point where he and not Tua became champ and a decent one at that... Tua had heart , will, power, aggression, and bags of charisma.. But ran into the very hardest roadblocks and never grabbed the belt... (Lewis , Ibeabuchi, inactivity) the latter being his worse opponent...

Razor had his moments.......... his small run of wins scared the hell out of many champs.. The wins over Gross, Weaver, Smith, Dokes, Rouse, Page almost had me buying into his potential.. But then he faded after two gallant attempts at Tyson.. Lewis laid him to rest really..

He was at least worthy of a title shot ..

He never officially had a shot at the world title.....

    shame...

For me it was Riddick Bowe. He may not have had a long run, but his fights were always entertaining as he was a superheavyweight who actually bothered to learn in fighting.

Holyfield is a close second but doesn't cut it, as he had quite a few stinkers. If you only focus on the quality of the fight and ignore the upset factor Tyson-Holyfield I was an awful fight, with excessive clench which provided a hint of the future of heavyweight boxing. Lewis-Holyfield were also pretty drab fights.

    Good post.

Holyfield and Bowe had those 3 terrific fights against each other. Holyfield also had entertaining fights with Moorer (rematch), Mercer, Foreman, and Cooper. The Stewart rematch was boring, the Lewis fights were so-so. Bowe in addition to the trilogy, had the rematch with Golota which was an amazing fight. The Coetzer fight was very entertaining too, and I loved watching him beat up Gonzalez. He had some dull ones, as most fighters do, such as the Tubbs and Donald fights. The Hide fight was strange, as Hide fights seem to always be.

Holyfield-Tyson I was an overrated fight. Too much clinching. Somehow it won The Ring's Fight of the Year, but it wasn't even a top 5 fight of 1996.

Lennox Lewis was the best. Mike Tyson was the most exciting.

Probably Tyson, and then Holyfield in a close second. Tyson's return back to the ring excited not only boxing fans, but average person as well. He came back knocking out oppenents left and right, until he met Holyfield in 1996's fight of the year. I think Tyson will remembered as the most exciting fighter of his generation, and for good reason.

Lennox was the antithesis of exciting. If you want to be a UK homer, Bruno would be a far better choice.

Purely in terms of most exciting, I'd probaboly go with Tommy Morrison, simply because SOMEONE was gonna get KOed.

Holyfield was all heart, commitment and balls and we ask ourselves who was the most exciting?
