James "The Gentleman Masher" Corcoran.Until they discovered his kryptonite:Fighting black fighters. On the real though,Prime Tyson scared mother****ers every damn time.It took the death of his mom and a **** load of naysayers for a motivated Buster Douglas to train like a beast and beat a complacent Tyson who lost his edge from living the high life.
The man that fought the Boston Tar Baby 17 times and won nearly all of the newspaper decisions, also one of the handful of men to knock Langford out.
joe louis in my opinion, he was knocking guys out for fun. the likes of liston, tyson, foreman, they relied on intimidation. tyson more so. foreman was very intimidating, but he was exposed rather quickly by ali. tyson was found out to be mentally fragile. liston was compared to louis before he fought ali. i think just standing at that time opposite side of the ring against someone like louis who you know is way far ahead of his time in boxing ability is terrifying. i know max baer admitted his fear. if we're talking about the most ducked heavyweights due to their ability, then it'll have to be out of langford and lennox lewis. they were both ducked by the very best of their era.
tyson was scared of lennox since 96 mate. bowe scared iof lewis. holyfield only fought him when he really had to and even said he wouldn't of got the fights he did if it wasn't for the other top heavyweights being scared of lennox. lennox might not of looked intimidating, but fighters realised the ability he had. the american boxing fans put lennox down, but the american fighters who understand boxing knew the truth.
Bowe was feared? My God I can't believe people bring up the name. Bowe was a disgrace for professional boxing, nobody feared that clown. Iron Mike during his initial reign was feared. He had this aura when he stepped in the ring his opponents didn't dare to look at him. When they were knocked down you knew they thought about quitting instantly, their eyes spoke volumes.
