Who was the most promising Amateur Boxer to fail in the Pro's?

It all depends on what criteria you're setting - the biggest gap between expectation and achievement, or promising amateurs who failed to become even a serviceable pro?

Bennett is a great shout for the latter. He was a highly touted world champion amateur, who got a lot of respect in the Olympics for a spirited showing against Savon. He ended up 10-4 as a pro, with all 4 losses by KO and barely a single meaningful win on his record.

From skimming the thread I haven't seen a mention of Jorge Luis Gonzalez, who beat Stevenson, Bowe, Lewis and Biggs as an amateur. As a pro, he lost by KO every time he fought a live opponent, even getting beaten up by Ross Puritty (before it became trendy to do so)
