They are 'aware of it' because its benefits their wallets and gives them claim to a now meanginless title. Nothing else.

 and why does it benefit their wallets?

It benefits their wallets because people are more interested in watching a true linear champion box than watching an alphabite champion. This is because a true linear champion interests people more.

You just out-witted yourself spectacularly, and I quite enjoyed it.

Establishing new lineage doesn't mean anything to me, pertaining to all weight divisions. I want to see guys earn it the way it was intended.
Its cheapened today with multiple abc titles and that is undeniable.

    Alvarez.

If that is the case, there have been no Heavyweight Lineal Champions since Gene Tunney. He beat "the man" in Dempsey, then retired and no man after him fought him for a chance to "beat the man."

    No.

He won The Ring lineage from Austin Trout.

He became the #1 or #2 JMW after the Trout win, with the only arguable JMW deserving to be ranked higher as Mayweather himself. Thus, a clear lineage was formed.

 the "way it was intended" was for the top two in the division to meet to establish it. That's still the way it is intended. There's no difference, at all, except in your head.

...here, I must agree with you though. It is cheapened by the ABC's setting up an alternative any time they feel like it. Some of these mad organisations have like - three champions on their own. Literally. It does confuse people.

    No.

He was the #1 contender in the division. Mayweather was #2. That crowned the new champion, nothing else. Forget that Ring ****.

Lara cleaned out Canelos division while he fought nothing but guys from lower weight divisons. Lara is obviously the best at 154 not Trout or Ricky Hattons brother.

Yes, in the same way that every heavyweight post-Tunney that has been named linear, they are linear. If you mean "there is no unbroken lineage stretching back to the dawn of gloved fighting" they you are correct. But nobody in the world apart from you cares.

So to some guys Gene Tunney is still the lineal champion of the world until somebody drags his rotten skeletons in a ring to take it from him?
    Interesting view...

Mayweather is definatly the lineal Junior Middleweight champion.

The Welterweight is debatable. I can see the argument that he all ready is and the argument that he should have to beat Bradley.

Tunney, Sharkley, Shmelling and Canera were not all champs at the same time. They were knocked off one after the other accordingly by each leading contender creating true linear champs.
