What Mercer did to Morrison was pretty brutal come to think of it.

Stanley Ketchel, in retrospect, was probably an actual psychopath. He was brutal both inside and outside the ring to the point of mental illness.

Ali is not the most ruthless fighter in history, however,he does have THE most ruthless fight ever.Or the cruelest fight ever.Ali-Terell.What's my name.It had nothing to do with boxing.Just a mean ass whoopin'.

I imagine if Ali had a different demeanor then he would be number one most ruthless.Just ask Joe Frazier or Sonny Liston or Floyd Patterson or Ernie Terrel or George Foreman. Before and After the fights these guys learned to hate him.And now they all have no choice, but to sing his praises!

Ali was not a conqueror of fighters,he was a conqueror of men. That's ruthless.

Jack Dempsey. Nothing will ever top the way he brutalized Jess Willard for ruthlessness. The massacre begins at about 6:45:

Also, Roberto Duran took the idea of people going the distance with him personally in his lightweight days. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else who, while being completely ahead on the cards, would push as hard for a knockout in the final rounds.

Take the execution of Lou Bizzarro, for example, where Bizzarro lost probably every round running from Duran, but all he did was **** Duran off by doing that. Duran finally catches him in the 14, and it takes less than 40 seconds for Duran to knock the guy down three times, the last time Bizzarro was in another world and could barely even stand, and Duran knocks him stone cold out with one punch, then walks away like he's trying to say "That's for wasting my time, you piece of ****." Check out from 5:40-6:25

Also, Ray Mercer was famously merciless, especially when an opponent was in trouble:

I wouldn't really equate finishing off your opponent as ruthlessness...usually all the best boxers in history were great finishers. Sugar Ray Leonard would murder a mofo once he was in trouble, but i wouldnt call him a ruthless fighter. When I think ruthless, I think someone with absolute contempt for his opponent...the person on the other side of that ring was an enemy, someone that they wanted to kill if they could.

James Kirkland seems to possess that ruthlessness...a deep rooted anger that he takes out on other people.

Look at 1:00, I always laugh at how Mercer looks at his opponent wobbling all over the ring like "Do you really want some more of this?"
