All 3 were supremely talented in their weight class, very athletic, fast, flashy, slick, and smart. Who do you think was the most "skilled" out of these 3 in terms of boxing ability?

Pure boxing ability I'd go with SRL. Ali and Roy relied more on speed and athletic ability to get them the success they had. Once those skills faded then Ali relied on his ability to absorb punishment, sheer guts and ring generalship for wins against Foreman and Frazier III where as Roy pretty much became a shaddow of himself and proved he didn't have the greatest of chins.

Sugar Ray could mimic different styles really well.

    Sugar.

He had the same athletic gifts as Ali and Junior, but applied himself to the craft and mastered it.

Leonard wasn't a technical master. He struggled punching off the back foot. He needed to be set to punch. His defense is worse than Ali and Roy.

Ray or Ali. Roy had the potential, but if you don't apply it to fight the best, what does it matter. RAy and Ali proved it.

Ali didnt punch to the body at all. Roy didnt utilize his jab that well.

Sugar Ray Leonard had the most complete skill set out of the 3. He he could fight inside better than either of them and he was just as capable on the outside.

When it comes to Ali remember the guys he was facing were bigger, slow plodding heavyweights compared to the guys Ray Leonard fought.

Ray if you are talking about skill.

Once Ali's & Roy's speed went...then unfortunately you see the end result today.

Probably SRL for his infighting ability.

Jones was very skilled as well. It's ridiculous how some people who claim to know boxing say that Jones didn't have "technical skills" or whatever. Jones switching to southpaw and still being Roy Jones requires more technical skill than most good fighters ever have.

Leonard could infight better than Jones? Funny. And once Leonard's speed was gone he looked like ****.

Roy's legs started going around 2000. How many years later did he start looking like ****?
Anyway, the point is, if SRL was so much more skilled, then why did it not help him when he aged? Because he relied on his speed as much as Ali and Jones.

Yes,but if we're talking about pound for pound proportionate levels,Ali was just as fast at his weight as Leoanrd and Jones were at theirs. And remember that those such as Norton and Frazier were n't exactly snail like in speed.

When it comes to skill alone, all three were up there with each other. Overall,I'd place Roy at a plateau below Muhammad and Ray because his chin was n't as cast iron as theirs.
