You rate Roy Jones #4-6 in history yet Ali doesn't make the 50? Surely you jest. Ali's competition is 5 out of 10, what exactly is Jones' rated at?

I rank Jones #1 head to head, that makes up for whatever he is lacking in level of competition. In my opinion, Hopkins, Toney and McCallum were far better than Liston, Frazier or Foreman, still Jones' level of competition would be about 8 out of 10.

H2H is all speculation. The Hopkins that Jones beat wasn't a patch on what he would become and McCallum was 39-40 years old and in his second last ever fight. You're left with toney who was oft beaten across his career tho Jones did dominate.

It doesn't add up for me.

You said years ago you believe Jones would beat peak Ali H2H (no P4P mention, this is heavyweight vs heavyweight). Does this still stand?

Level of competition is also speculation, very subjective opinion. Liston, Frazier and Foreman that Ali beat weren't exactly in 100% best shape either. This thread is not about RJJ, anyway.

Hopkins wasn`t that good when he fought Jones, certainly wasn`t at Foreman or Frazier`s level in the early 90`s, Frazier`s offense was 1000 times better than Toney`s offense vs Jones, Griffin fought far better against Jones their first fight and certainly p4p Jones couldn`t have beat Ali, Foreman or Frazier coming forward`s swinging wildly like he did in his rematch vs Griffin, McCallum wasn`t as good at middle as he was at ligt middle, he was beating in his first match vs Kalambay, struggled against Graham, had trouble with Collins and just didn`t have the same snap to his punches as he did at light middle where he blew away Julian Jackson and KO`d Don Curry.
