I remember that article and rooted for Buck from there on out. That particular magazine arrived in the mail and within a few weeks Buck was fighting on USA's Tuesday Night Fights against Kevin Pompey, I believe.

He is a very good guy. We set up/took down the ring, chairs, tables, etc...for a benefit show in Oklahoma City.
He also knocked out Robert Wangila, and he was a silver medalist in the Olympics, if my memory still works.

54 year old Tyson would have flattened 50 year Larry again in another dimension.

Laing was a lot like Khan often leaving his chin wide open and fighting stupid then getting sparked.

Disagree. Strickland was competent enough to go the distance with many well known fighters.

I just checked Argentina and there are endless guys like this where you can't name a single opponent on their record: https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/1295?&offset=100

And that's just Argentina. I'm sure the same stuff is going on in SE Asiam, African, and other South American countries.

Huckelberry Finn version of Archie Moore takes Tyson out to the deep waters of the Mississippi and drowns him.

The thing about Reggie Strickland...I believe that, if you look at his record, he was stopped regularly until 30 day suspensions became mandatory. Then he was rarely stopped. To me that implies some level of ability.
That happens in the US too. Look at the Jakubowski brothers, fighting on the same circuit as Buck Smith. When I was in OKC I saw an ad for a fight card at a casino and the guy in the main event was 65-4. I had never heard of him and can't remember his name, but he had had almost 70 fights, all 4 or 6 rounds, all in casinos in Oklahoma.

Youre right and i didnt mention Strickland in my original post for a reasonm. Strickland knew how to fight, he just fought defensively to move on to the next town and next fight as fast as possible. There are a bunch of British guys like this that aren't half bad but rake up tons of losses (Kristian Laight immediately springs to mind).
