people here are wondering why pacquiao is getting criticized here eventhough he won a shut out? Its because of his opponent, mosley had no right to be in the ring with pac last night based on his recent performances, therefore pac needed to stop him or look extremely good to get some credit, if it was a good opponent with a good shot people wouldnt be like this now, for example if this was martinez or floyd nobody would hate on pacs performance, it is because mosley was there to be beaten badly, same with khan vs mccloskey for exmaple.
It's all Pacs fault no doubt 1. He has brutally beaten his past opponents who are much younger than shane, and therefore, the whole world expects him to stop the old man under 6 rounds. Pac sets the people's expectations and failed to satisfy them 2. In this fight I don't see the beast in Pac that we saw in the margo and cotto fight. What we saw, rather, is a lot of friendly gestures with shane and all that ****. We don't need that kind of thing in boxing, specially in this particular fight. Shane is a little 40 years old. Before the fight, he sells himself as the guy who can still pull the trigger and can make miracles happen. Pac, despite being aware his fighting a shot mosley, also sells us this idea and claims there will be lots of actions. Pac didn't deliver. period
Same thing happend to Mosley that happend in the Mayweather fight. Anytime he tried to throw he was going to get countered, difference is, against Pac had he decided to be aggressive that fight would have been over in the 4th or 5th. After he went down Mosely was looking for a one shot counter that could change the fight which never came. Late in the fight, last couple of rounds or so he was in strictly survival mode. Could I criticize him for this, yeah, but I wasn't in there getting punched in the face. It was boring as hell but my night was made by Arce and Vazquez, what a fight that was, ****ing savage
He could have gone out on his shield though. He could have risked it all and gone all out like the warrior he couldn't stop talking about being in the build-up to the fight. I like Shane Mosley as much as the next man, but this one is on him. He talked for years about wanting to fight Mayweather and Pacquiao and proving he was the best fighter in the world, and when he got his chance he looked like **** both times. He can expect some backlash.
