Hrgovic landed a lot more on Zhang, landing more than double the punches Parker did on Zhang, his style is more aggressive than Parkers so in that way he was tougher and more dangerous. But then Zhang also landed more than double the punches on Hrgovic than he did vs Parker. Overall I think Parker did better vs Zhang, you play into a counter punchers strengths when you go right at them and it took Hrgovic until the later rounds to adjust and start fighting off the back foot, while Parker from the outset had a better game plan and apart from a couple of blips executed it well.
Neither of them were particularly dangerous. As both spent most of their time firing into Zhang's high guard. But Parker actually won his fight as Zhang couldn't deal with his movement as he tired in the back end of the fight. Though whilst Parker clearly won his fight, in fairness to Hrgovic (who I still think lost) he fought the fresher man. Zhang looked every bit his 40 years of age last night against a younger man who just kept moving throughout. I think a more interesting question is who would be the more dangerous fight for Usyk. I suspect it might be Hrgovic
Parker really didn't use that much movement last night, which surprised me, he stood right in front of Zhang for large parts of the fight. But his head movement and feints completely befuddled Zhang. He simply could get a read on Parker and so was left waiting to throw for much of the fight. Similar thing happened against Wilder, who also was accused of not doing enough. Yes Zhang is 40 and looked 40 in there last night, but let's be clear he was 40 when he KO'ed Joyce too, Parker beat the same Zhang that beat Joyce, only difference was Zhang was 4lbs heavier and had a much more difficult style in front of him this time.
I don't mean he was circling him and running, but he was constantly making small steps and using his upper body movement to make it difficult for Zhang. Zhang looked to be picking shots (possible to conserve energy) and unfortunately for him he was losing round after round on inactivity. An example of being stood Infront of him with little movement in contrast would indeed be Joyce I don't mean to take too much away from the win. But I was just answering the question. Parker wasn't "dangerous", but he was the better man on the night. I expect a repeat performance in the rematch too
Neither looked dangerous but both looked tough as hell. I was much more impressed by Parker’s performance but that fight highlighted even more clearly that Hrgovic has a chin and half. Zhang barely caught Parker and dropped him, he’s got awesome power. Hrgovic took far more punishment and stayed up.
Well done to Parker, he did well last night. Landed some good shots and showed he was tough as well. I do think his win was clearer than Hrgovic's, but I think you have to say that Hrgovic fought the better version of him. Hopefully Hrgovic gets his title shot, or at least fights one of the big names. He has some very vocal fans on here and I want to see how good he is vs a good opponent.
