Who was your pick going into oscar vs pac ?

I read a thread here that got bumped from back then and most posters were singing the same tune - DLH was too much for little Pac.
There was some Pacquaio fan who posted on here who predicted his rise from pretty early and how he would beat Oscar, Hatton, Cotto etc etc

 

I never had any doubt Manny would win that fight. Oscar was too old.

 

That was the famous PacDBest, the Cassandra of ESB. He was banned by the mods for being right all the time and embarrassing them.

 

Oscar looked like a solid B level fighter when he fought and beat Forbes at 150.

I personally thought ODLH had enough in him to beat the snaller Pacquiao.

After rd 1 it was evident something was wrong with ODLH. Weighing less than Pacquiao on fight night was his obvious downfall.

 

If I recall, it was some 90% of the board picked Oscar to win.

 

Exactly and anyone claiming that they were picking Pac is full of **** or a nuthugger of the highest degree. I was here back when that fight happened everyone thought he had no chance.

 

I definatly picked Oscar to win that fight. My head was still at the stage where it would not accept Manny could oversome such reach and size advantages. I think this was the fight that made me accept it.

 

Well, I wouldn't necessarily say they had to be a nuthugger. You do recall how ODLH looked versus Steve Forbes right? Honestly, I had no idea what to expect in that fight.

 

Looking back Oscar was done by the Forbes fight but like everyone else I just thought Pac was too small .

Pac was jumping 3 weight classes

Some people were concerned Oscar was going to hurt him. That's no exaggeration, that fight was a real shock at the time. It not being one now is revisionist history based off of Pacquiao's incredible ensuing run.
