Does your family/friends watch you guys fight? or do you go alone with your club? I have a lot of friends who want to watch me fight, and my first bout will be soon. Can't help but think taking to many with me will be more nerve racking...atsch
all depends on the individual.i like having heaps of support at my fights the more my family and friends cheers the harder i seem to go. but in saying that i dont like showing ppl footage of my fights because everyone all of a sudden become so called experts/cridits.
my friends always come to watch me spar lol, havent had a real amateur fight but if i did they would come watch me for sure same with my family
No fights yet, but I really get nervous when people are around.atsch Even when sparring, If I was all alone with my sparring partner and trainer, that sure would help. Oh well, I guess that's just something I have to make do with.
I box my best with just me and my cornermen. But it doesn't bother me who turns up and watches me, its just me and the ote rguy in the ring.
lol very true. Hypothetically speaking, you could do everything 100% PERFECT in a fight/training yet somehow someone will find something to critique or say you did wrong, instead of just saying good job.
when i box at my home show all my friends come to watch but when am boxing away only my girl friend and a few friends come
No fights yet, but since I am not very confident and I know that I am still learning, the less witnesses the better for me!
I prefer just being with the club, but added pressure when family/friends are there makes me an animal
My Dad and Grandad have been to 8 of my 9 fights, only my 8th I went unsupported due to commitments else where for everyone. There was a few of my friends parents there to go primary for my friend but stayed for me. Usually various family members and club mates come, my best mates been to 2 or 3 of my fights but thats all. My mum and stepmum refuse to watch me fight.
it doesn´t matter who´s there or not to me. when I´m in the ring it´s time to work. I don´t have time to think about what´s happening outside the ring. I get into my world and live!!! only other fighters know what I´m talking about. I don´t get nervous as I used to when I was in my teens and 20´s. I´m 35 now so I look at things differently now
I only had a couple of friends watch in my amateur days but since I've turned pro I get everyone to come friends, family, gym members
