At some point Vitaly was considered as #1 HW (not champion or
undisputed but at least contender) - but so is Wlad right now.

Who do you rank higher Vitaly before he retired or Wlad now?

I dunno. Vitali I guess. Boxing fans are harsh and tend to remember losses too much, as Wlad's losses were worse than Vitali's.

But when it's all said and done, Wlad will go down with the better achievements, if he hasn't surpassed them already.

    Indeed.

Unless Vitaly beats Peter in a more impressive fashion than Vlad, I mean KO or TKo along with another belt holder.

Vitali is an underachiever that's for sure. Wlad will rank higher when both are done but Vitali was the better fighter.

Wlad for sure... Vitali's biggest victory was his biggest loss, while i think Vitali was a better overall fighter, Wlad has risen to a level that Vitali has and will never reach.

During 2004 and 2005, Vitali was in a higher position than Wlad right now. He was considered the Champ by many.

However, in real achievements Wlad is much higher.

Now that I think about it, the brothers have been on top of the division since mid 2003, with a few exceptions. When one of them becomes the Champ, the circle will be closed.

Vitaly just looks like the killer of the 2...Wlad's vulnerability keeps him under Vitaly, but that could change if Wlad keeps destroying guys...

Vitaly sounds more physically vulnerable, he is prone to injuries any kind and his face scratches a bit. Wlad has poor stamina and thats it, he improved defensively and have better offensive tools.

Wlad, because at this point in his career has accomplished more, but head to head I would expect Vit. to win by stoppage.

I think that when all is said and done Wlad will retire with more respect. His respect will come from his wins and domination wheras Vitali's best fight was a loss.

Wladimir will always be seen as the more vurnerable as the two; Vitali as the stronger one.

Wladimir has much better wins than Vitali, but also much worse losses.

To me, Wladimir is much better. Better handspeed, coordination and technique. I think it more than compensates for what he lacks in chin compared to Vitali. That said, Vitali does get the job done often with his weird style.

Personally, I rate Wlad as the better of the two in terms of accomplishments. That said, Vitali was the more dangerous of the two, although I'd give an edge to the more technically sound Wlad to upset Vitali.
