We all know what people tell about Maxie Baer's defense... yet he was almost never dropped (depsite facing a lot of strong hitters) and he finished his career in a good health. This guy was a true marvel, he had tremendous potential.

Meh. I'll take Yadi and Ted Simmons. No, in all seriousness, Bench was a hell of a catcher.

There are so many. I love his fights with Tiger. Fullmer was usually the bull in his fights but against Tiger he used his underrated boxing ability. He knew that he couldn't stand toe to toe with Tiger. His fight with Spider Webb is pretty damn good as well. Fullmer could take a lot of punishment but he also did a lot of smart things in the ring. Watch the clips of his fight with Joey G. He knew that Joey could box his ears off but Joey also had a temper. Watch how Gene brings out the rough house tactics to try and get Joey to brawl with him.

    Fullmer was a bad ass.

Well, definitely Ali in his second career. He would purposely lay against the ropes for extended periods and do little or no counterpunching. This finally came to bite him in in the first Spinks bout as Spinks never really punched himself out and Ali could not fully assert himself in the later rounds like he did in so many fights in his second career.

Fullmer was definitely one of the most exciting fighters of all time. In addition to what you said his fight with Robinson, Basilio, Paret, Fernandez, Turner, Lausse, and Greaves are immortal, and those are just the ones that were filmed!
