Who were the most intelligent lineal heavyweight champions?

Ali. He may not have been academic but he was an absolute genius. Of the rest, Lennox Lewis is a clever bloke.

 

What do you mean by intelligent? How savvy they were in the ring or the stuff they did outside the ring?

 

Ok I will name some:

Max Schmeling - became the CEO of Coca-Cola.
Jack Dempsey - successful businessman.
Gene Tunney - seemed like a smart bloke.
Both Klitschko bros obviously.

 

Outside of the ring is lost on me. Inside, I'd have it:

Intelligence as a boxer or in general

2.Lewis,seems very smart and plays chess in his free time
3.Vitali,lilke his brother very intelligent,mayor of Kiev
4.Sharkey,saved all of his boxing money and had a successful life afterwards
5.Ali,could be a bit of a clown sometimes but was very witty

 

Holyfield in the ring is a bit of a strange one. He could be lured into a brawl too easily.

 

I like Lewis, but I don't get the impression he's especially intelligent, according to people into chess I've seen, he's actually pretty awful at it, especially for how much he says he plays. Though he has said he only really plays and isn't into learning the theory of it, so that's probably a lot of it.

 

I don't know about you, but bullet games aren't exactly relaxing.
