Can you list your top 10 finishers of all time and state if you agree with the list on this vid? I don`t feel Duran`s KO`s on this vid were devastating enough for him to be on this vid.

I re-named it for you and I had Louis in mind when I said on another thread that Shavers was a hard puncher but not a great finisher, I feel Louis would have finished Holmes if he could have hurt Holmes the way Shavers did, that was sloppy finishing, Earnie`s hand speed was pretty bad.

No, being a KO artist and a finisher are not one in the same. You're obviously not understanding.

Vitali Klitschko???? Because he destroyed a fat 38 years old glass-chinned Corrie Sanders ?
Don't do this my friend ! Otherwise this list is nothing to do with the "finisher" definition.

Tyson held the world record for most 1 Rd KO`s in history by 1992 and after that he had a few more 1 rounders, nothing Vitali ever did could match the violent science Tyson showed when blowing out Spinks, I don`t think Vitali could have finished Spinks that quick at all.

The Knockout rate doesn't matter. Best example Frank Bruno ! His ratio smokes Tyson's but Tyson destroyed him
two times (Tko5 and Tko3). Considering this i doubt Bruno was better knockout artist than Tyson.

I think only the koed opponents' quality (skill, chin etc.) is important.

Tyson had far more 1st round KO`s than Bruno, but he fought better opposition, that were also just trying to survive.

Why ? The original question didn't include the first round ko ratio.

This might need some further drafts, but off the top of my head:

    1.) Joe Louis
    2.) Sugar Ray Robinson
    3.) Archie Moore
    4.) Sugar Ray Leonard
    5.) Carlos Zarate
    6.) Felix Trinidad
    7.) Mike Tyson
    8.) Ruben Olivares
    9.) Terry McGovern
    10.) Roberto Duran

I think, reviewing some other submissions we need some clarification on what is meant by best finisher. I typically think of a finisher as a guy who is an expert and closing the show right away when he gets his opponent hurt and my list is based on that understanding.

    Fun idea though.
