Yes, that's exactly what a finisher is. You and I and most others understand, but some obviously don't.

Leonard might have been the all time best finisher, if I had to narrow it down to just one.

When Leonard badly hurt a guy, you might as well cut the fight off... the fight is over.

If that's your ranking though, IMO you have Trinidad too high.

Trinidad wasn't a better finisher than Tyson and Olivares. He was an excellent one though.

I think any top 10 list has to have Arguello. Alexis didn't let guys off the hook once they were badly hurt.

Chavez , Arguello, Zarate, Tyson, Leonard, J.Louis,Duran,Holyfield,Pryor, Curry, Hagler. Those fighters in their primes once they had their opponents hurt, they very rarely got a 2nd or 3rd chance. They had the ability to adjust on the fly to their opponents defenses , change their punch selection to effectively and efficiently stop their opponents. They rarely wasted punches by swinging wildly, hitting the gloves and arms of their opponents like most of the fighters do today.

I'm surprised I'm the only one who mentioned Corrales. Chico was a ruthless finisher. The only time he didnt go for an immediate finish is when he intentionally decided to give Justin Jukko a prolonged beating because Jukko had pissed him off pre-fight.

I doubt Bruno was better/harder puncher than Tyson. By F. Botha opinion Tyson could punch harder than Lewis or
Wladimir klitschko . Was Bruno harder or better puncher than Tyson,Lewis or Wladimir considering he has better ko ratio? He never proved it maybe against good opponents Bruno's ko ratio is zero.
Try to say a Bruno one punch ko win against a decent/good opponent !

Archie Moore would be a candidate for champion in this posting! Of recent years SRL was perhaps the best I saw. Joe Louis, Ruben Olivares, Robinson, Wilfredo Gomez and so many others make the list also.

More recently I think Terence Crawford deserves a mention. He's like a shark out for blood the moment he sees an opponent that's about to be finished.

    ou

Why ? The original question didn't include the first round ko ratio.[/QUOTE]
okay. Bruno might have had more power than Tyson (though I doubt he did) but this is about finishing people off and I can`t think of any heavy who could finish a man better than Tyson, Dundee said he had never seen a combo puncher like Tyson and he trained Leonard and Ali!
