Wilder would have boxed Mercer`s head off and so would have AJ unless he got caught, Mercer was very sloppy.

He didn`t have more power and Ruiz`s jab is better and his jabs to the body were great v AJ too, he also proved his chin getting up v AJ.

Maybe. He isn't outboxing Bruno. He either gets a late KO or loses a decision.

His landed more jabs against Lewis than Bruno did and boxed better v Holy than Frank would have.

He landed counter jabs on Fury, that fight was far closer than a fight between Mercer and Fury would be, Mercer would miss far more shots than Wilder did v Fury.

He did a fair job proving his chin by going down as well.

Mercer landed more jabs because he went the distance against Lennox, Bruno was stopped in the 7th round. Mercer outjabbed Lennox by a small margin, Bruno clearly outjabbed and outboxed Lennox. If Bruno boxes the way he did against McCall, I think he beats Mercer by decision (you can make a case for either guy). Why are we discussing Mercer vs Bruno?

I agree, his best wins were a three fight streak in 90-91 when he beat Cooper, Damiani and Morrison. Other than that he was just a tough gatekeeper

Mark has a slight tendancy to go off topic

I think he would have been a handlfull for any heavyweight in the 90`s except Vitali based on how well Vitali did v Lewis later on in his career.

Mercer landed far more punches v Lennox in the first 7 rounds of that fight compared to Bruno landing some more jabs than Lewis before being stopped, there wasn`t much action in the Bruno fight compared to Mercer v Lewis and McCall was awful v Bruno compared to Mercer v Lewis, he would have stopped Frank and was a better fighter.

Moorer was much better than Foreman during the 90`s but lost because of his weak chin, I fel Mercer could have beat both of them.
