...I know your not in the business of talking up Barrera, but can you at least back me up against Lefthook, the idiot, here?

    :good Perfect.

Past prime Morales >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Prime Cotto.

I love Cotto, he's a warrior with skills, but is not in their league.

You can call me all the names in the book, hurling insults only makes you look like a bigger fool than you already are. You are the #1 most biased poster on this forum. Just take a look at Cottos resume from 2000 and compare it to Barreras. Simple common sense really if your counting meaningful wins against capable opponents. Barrera was a great fighter, but his accomplishments in this decade dont outshine Cotto's.

Did you read the thread title. The top five fighters of the decade. It has nothing to do with anything before 2000.

All true, in a p4p sense they are worlds apart, Morales & Barrera could live with anyone 122 or even 126 lbs downwards if they were at their best... cant say the same for Cotto & 140 or especially 147 lbs.

    Different level IMO.

When did Cotto have an even fight with somebody on the level of a prime Morales? When did he ever beat an opponent on the level of a pretty much prime Morales? When did he ever put on the type of boxing clinic Barrera did against an opponent like a pretty much primed Naseem Hamed? When did Cotto beat top-fighters to win 3 belts in 3 weight-classes?

From 2000-05, Morales & Barrera were always around the top 5 p4p area, I know thats only half the decade but during that time, both became 3 weight world champions & were the only men to beat the absolute best versions of each other in 2000 & 2002 respectively.... MAB beat guys like Hamed, Sanchez, Tapia & Ayala & he did those guys ALL decisively.
Morales has legit & solid victories over Pacquiao, Ayala, Chavez, Hernandez, Espadas & Kelley.

Both left this decade past prime but going out like legends, EM twice vs Pac & once vs Diaz in a fight that many feel he edged & robbed him of history as Mexico`s 1st 4 weight champ, Barrera left vs the top 2 p4pers in Pac & JMM, doing well in losing. The Kahn fight was BS as much as I enjoyed it personally.

Then you compare the Mexican`s skillsets against Cotto, no comparison.

Look I dont want to argue with you, because your blinded by a Mexican ball sack, but your post was put up like I was comparing their entire careers, in which I dont rank Cotto higher yet, but for the decade Cotto has more meaningful wins than Barrera, and therefore I rank him higher. Feel free to post up their wins and we can discuss them without hurling insults. I have a pretty good understanding of the fighters respective abilities and opponents. You on the other hand are the so blinded by torrid love affair your having with Barreras balls, that Im sure it will go round in circles for pages and pages.

Dude, how in god's name am I about to have a debate with you when you brushed off the Morales wins as nothing special earlier? The reason you aren't getting a respectful debate out of me is because your disrespectful ****. You're always coming out with outrageous crap, and even when your proven wrong, you still harp on and on and on and never concede an inch. I've got better things to do than have you try and justify wins over Clottey and past prime Mosley as being superior to beating primed, undefeated ATG Morales and primed, undefeated P4P rated Hamed.

Fair enough if you dont have EM or MAB on your list but I dont think Cotto is the best replacement for either of them, Mosely perhaps (tho not for me) but not Cotto.
