Hopefully not Haye. The suckers will lap it up but it's a cynical match-up. AJ needs to fight a current contender, not some has-been looking for a retirement package. Wladimir is justifiable because it's less than a year since he was reigning and regarded as a great champion and has been shafted out of the Fury challenge twice this year. I understand Hearn's options are limited and for some reason Haye attracts punters.
Yeah, Hearn's probably genuine about taking the Wladimir gamble. But who knows? He might know something that will prevent the fight and give him reason to bring in David Price, Dillian Whyte or Eric Molina. I'm giving Hearn to benefit of the doubt now though, and the Wlad fight makes sense, a risk worth taking.
Would be amazed if November 26th remains the date. Hearn now saying 'announcement next week' for about the 3rd time, and going on to say : "Myself and Bernard Bonte (Klitschko's promoter) are working together and we really want to get this done. When all parties want to get a deal done, generally it comes together. "It's certainly not done yet but Anthony Joshua getting Wladimir Klitschko should be the next fight. Fingers crossed we can get there." "If it's Wladimir Klitschko, there's a very good chance it could be pushed into December."
Sounding more and more likely, isn't it? Won't believe a word of it until it's official, though. Too many people setting themselves up to be let down. Still fancy it to be the likes of Duhaupas, Miller, maybe even Price.
The biggest victim in all of this heavyweight talk going on at the moment is the truth. I've never heard so many contradictory statements being made at the one time.
I've not got a clue what's going on now that Fury's set to be stripped. Thought Joshua-Parker was nailed on for the IBF but it looks like Parker will be taking on Andy Ruiz for the soon-to-be-vacant WBO. There's also talk of Klitschko-Joshua but it seems that Wlad won't be bringing any belts to table, which Hearn says is a possible obstacle to that fight being made. Browne is adamant that he's first in line to contest the WBA, so who could he be up against? Klitschko and Haye are both highly ranked by the Panamanians. Or could we see Klitschko-Haye II? Haye claims to have a major bout lined up for December 10, the date for which Wlad has reportedly booked an arena in Hamburg. Who knows?!
The WBA gave Browne and Oquendo 30 days to get their fight for the vacant regular title set. That was about 30 days ago, but not a murmur.
Dillian Whyte landed his best shots on Dave Allen and Ian Lewison and they never looked too bothered, AJ is packing glass.
In fairness to AJ, he didn't see the left hook... and it's the shots you don't see that do the damage. He also walked right onto it. Plus you can't say just because Whyte didn't hurt the likes of Allen that he's packing glass. Just because Allen is a domestic level fighter, doesn't mean you can question his durability. As Peter Fury said, you could hit Dave Allen with a baseball bat and the man would still keep coming.
So how long do you think Dave Allen would last against Haye? As I can't see it going any further than 3 or 4.
