The whole thing about Whyte not getting low level boxers out early and AJ having a glass jaw is stupid. Just because the guy has limited boxing skills doesn't mean he can't take punches all night. I'm not saying AJ has a good chin but to compare it in that way is stupid. He never went down and he got the job done. Onwards an upwards
Clit now fight Browne in Hamburg. A very easy defence against David Price or someone of an equally poor standard coming to Sky Box Office soon.
Joshua-Price would be a terrible match. At least a poor standard of opponent can now be spun as being "Wlad's fault".
Hearn stringing this out now- makes no sense for Joshua to fight Wlad for one big payday to lose opposed to two smaller paydays and then the Wlad fight. It'll be Price I'd imagine.
If it is top 15 ibf then plenty can be counted out BUT chisora is in there and it's an easy fight to make, I hope not though. Would rather Hearn put his hand in his pocket and get pulev or duhaupas.
Yeah, the problem when you hype your fighter as a phenomenon and a superstar, the decent seasoned fighters or guys with any sort of future WILL ask to be well paid. Whether they think they will win or not. They know AJ is a cash cow, and they know he's being hyped as some sort of unstoppable youngster, so they want a large slice of the pay. Thing is - and it's not a fight I want to see at all - if Hearn is interested in a fighter who has a 'household name', then surely Haye is the logical chance. I doubt it's even a risky fight for AJ.
I can't understand why you can't attribute any blame Wlad. Yes, Price would be a **** poor opponent and they should try and get someone better even at late notice but Matchroom did try to get Wlad in. That much is obvious.
Who said I can't attribute any blame to Wlad? I'll blame Wlad for whatever Wlad did or does. But I don't even care about Wlad. Everyone else seems obssessed by him. Maybe AJ will fight Wlad, and then there's not even an issue. Everyone can be happy. I said they WILL be able to spin a poor opponent as Wlad's fault. I didn't say they'd be completely wrong to do so. But let's be honest, Eddie Hearn has been saying he's been working on settling an opponent for several weeks now. He never seemed particularly keen on Parker, and perhaps the same was true on Parker's side. Hearn implied a lot of other 'decent' opponents were pricing themselves out. The Fury situation skewered things further. Hearn can offer the fight to Ortiz. Hearn can offer the fight to Haye. I can't imagine Ortiz turning it down. I think Haye wants the AJ payday and retire.
How does it need building up ? AJ and Haye are the two most recognizable heavyweights to the British casuals, popular in the British tabloids and mainstream media. SKY Box Office can get the billboards printed up and trailers made within a couple of days. No one will be saying "who are those guys?" If AJ-Wlad can be made as a late as now, why would David Haye need building up?
Wlad's legacy fully confirmed as a man who made a career out of beating soft touches, got pumped by a very poor Tyson Fury and ducked Anthony Joshua. Well done Wlad - welcome to the Hall of Shame
Sky now reporting potential Joshua v Price fight - absolutely scandalous if this happens. Price not progressed an inch since the Tiger Tony pumpings and this fight no better than the Cornish Wafer 18 months ago
