Hearn says Joshua will fight in August to stay active, before facing Wilder in December. Who will he fight? Who do you want him to fight? Chisora would be an ideal, safe stay-active opponent, but I think if he fights in August it will likely be Whyte.
Tall orthodox fighter By that time though good chance he skips an activity bout altogether AJ, Fury , Wilder & Usyk are all waiting on one another to make a move for their lay-up fight and so far Usyk fighting Dubious for >$6m in Poland is close as we have but that doesn't even sound feasible or warranted.
Someone that can help him tune-up his defense ahead of Wilder. Wilder lands his straight right on that chin and AJ sleeps.
Hrgovic would be interesting, nobody else seems to want to fight him, ranked with all the governing bodies, risky opponent but definitely winnable for AJ. I have no interest in the whyte rematch. AJ vs Hughie Fury would be a cool run up to a super fight with Tyson later in the year. I also don’t have a problem with AJ fighting Sanchez or zhang next as long as he really does fight wilder or fury in December
Mate I like your optimism I wish fighters in all divisions were fighting the best around but no way is Joshua fighting Hrgovic or Zhang. I think he would fight them, I don't think Joshua has ducked anyone but I don't think those fights make sense. If Wilder is the fight in December then it will be a stay busy fight in August. Hrgovic and Zhang in December would be good fights but the August fight is a low risk, low reward type thing, to prepare for the December fight.
I don't think he will fight until December Something will conviniently come up and it'll be spun that he was unable to etc
I honestly didn’t think AJ would fight usyk back to back but he did, he definitely has a say in calling the shots with Hearn. I’m hoping aj and Hearn know the whyte rematch will flop
He won’t fight until December If he does fight before then, it will be a total bum (Dillian Whyte at this point is a total bum) AJ said himself in the Franklin pre-fight press conference, his main motivation for fighting now is just money. For the rest of his career, he’s only going to take low-risk, high-reward fights. The only time he’ll get in with a dangerous fighter is for a massive payday, which only Wilder and Fury can provide.
