Who will Anthony Joshua fight next: Usyk (WBO) or Pulev (IBF)?

Top Rank and the IBF want Kubrat Pulev to be next. Joshua will be stripped of the IBF title if he doesn't fight him.

But recently, Joshua has said he may fight his WBO mandatory Usyk next.

Who will Joshua and Hearn choose?

I wonder who will Pulev fight for the vacant IBF title if Joshua chooses to go the WBO route?

If Povetkin had beaten Hunter IBF might have slotted him into #2.

Kownacki is 3 so I guess he has an edge.

Wilder/Fury winner vs Pulev/Kownacki winner? Then unify against Joshua/Usyk winner?

Not going to happen but it would be good.

The better fight which will get more interest, more money and increase AJs legacy is Usyk

I dont think anyone is that keen on seeing a 40 year old Bulgarian who is way past his best, and was being bounced off the canvas by a shot Wlad over 5 years ago. AJ isnt going to make much from that fight, and isnt going to get any credit for it. The IBF belt is not worth keeping either.

First of all the Wlad fight was probably the most exciting one in Vladimir's career. I think that is a very good stay busy fight for Joshua -facing Pulev. I am pretty sure Usyk will fight someone else before Joshua, just to gain more experience in the division.

Maybe Pulev's team are hard to deal with.

Meanwhile - Usyk is a Matchroom boxer - so easy to make the fight.

Just heard that Joseph Parker has just been ranked WBO #2

If so - he may well face Usyk for the title

Knowing how the IBF are on mandatories, I expect it will be Pulev next.

Be interesting to see if AJ can get himself 'up' for a fight with Pulev though - especially having gone through a camp for a fight with him before prior to Pulev pulling out and Takam stepping in.

This. And the fight would earn him much more respect from the fans, especially should he win.

If it means keeping the belts he'll fight pulev I reckon as he has said he wants to unify. It would give Usyk chance to have another fight at HW too which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Problem is if he has to get those mandos out of the way it puts a potential fight with Fury/Wilder back, unless he gets a pass from one of the governing bodies

He talks about potential opponents here and which of them would be his preference. He said he's been studying Usyk for a while and that if it's him next he's going to talk to former opponents of his to find out information on how to defeat him.

Who are these former opponents of Usyk who AJ will be approaching to gather intel on Usyk?

Joe Joyce who AJ knows well and has sparred many rounds against

Obviously Bellew which is one of the reasons I wasn't too keen on that fight for Usyk, knowing that Usyk would likely be facing AJ in the not too distant future

And Michael ''The Bounty'' Hunter said AJ came backstage to great him and have a little chat with him the other day. I think it's the first time they've spoken to each other.

Smart think is to fight Pulev. He will be 100% stripped otherwise. We don`t know if WBO will strip him or wait him. Usyk also is not ready and want 1 more match before facing Joshua. And even if WBO strip him, the title will be back in his promotional team and they will work out a fight between the two. So the title will still be at his reach.
If he decide to fight Usyk first and denied Pulev, IBF will 100% strip him, and if Pulev win the title, and most likely will do, because the opponent will be a joke opponent, no way AJ get his title back in the near future. Mark my words that Pulev will milk the title.
He is from my country, but the guy fight bum after bum and if he touch the title it will be even worst. No way they give AJ a match for the title.
So smart business is Pulev. If Eddie Hearn decide WBO, then he is a complete f.......

So he is going back to fighting tomato cans again. Pulev already had his chance to fight and chickened out. Pulev sucks and has beat no one. Pulev has a jab and thats it plus he cuts easy around the eyes. No one wants to see Joshua fight Pulev for God sakes. Easy win for Joshua being Pulev has no punching power and thin lunch meat skin.

Usyk will be a easy win for Joshua as well. Usyk lacks punching power and is to easy to hit. Usyk cuts so damn easy. Joshua would slice Usyk up good. Boxing sucks when fighters hide behind the belts to get easy fights. **** Joshua already got exposed by a fat boy. Joshua had to run from a little 284 pound 6ft tall fat man for 12 rounds because his chin is so damn fragile.

I really have no idea why Joshua is choosing one over the other. Pulev has been fighting guys like Rydell Booker (and not stopping them) and he's really been waiting around for a vacant title fight since he backed out of the Joshua fight a few years ago. Like others have said, Pulev offers little to nothing. His skin is like tissue paper. His power is minimal.

Honestly, does Anthony Joshua really need six months of prep time to get ready to fight freaking Kubrat Pulev?

Deontay Wilder fought two weeks before Joshua fought Ruiz. Wilder is fighting Tyson Fury TWICE in the next six months or so. Flip that around, and Tyson Fury is fighting Deontay Wilder TWICE in the next six months or so.

Joshua can't blow out Pulev and fight Usyk in the next six months? C'mon?

These guys need to put their feet on the gas and get this going.

Joshua needs to take care of his business and be ready to go when the Wilder-Fury Trilogy wraps this summer. Stick the schedule those guys are on so you're ready to go when the opportunity arises.

If all the belts ... RING, WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO ... aren't on the line at the end of 2020 when the winner of Wilder-Fury meets Joshua, simply because Joshua dropped a belt so he could spend six months preparing for Pulev, that's pathetic.
