Who Will be Fighter of the Decade 2020's

We are not talking about over 2,000 years ago you hipster. We are talking about the 2010's decade. Tell me which years were in the 2010's.

I want you to not sound like a fool. I want you to go by what every scholar and peasant alike goes by. Or at the very least, keep your fringe attention snarling thoughts to yourself.

Canelo and Tank are the only ones on the list with a chance if we're talking about a fighter of the decade for 2020-2029 being judged after the decade is over. The rest will all be long-retired by the middle of the decade (midnight on 31 December 2024 in my opinion in case anyone's wondering). I'd say a fighter would have to be active and dominant for at least half the decade to be considered (and would stand a much better chance of winning if they'd been that for all of it), therefore the ideal candidate would be 20-25 years of age now.

I think Dubios has a great chance to become dominant at heavyweight and is still just 22. He could be fighting for a world title in a couple of years and the 2020's should contain his entire prime.

Inoue at 26 definitely has a good shout, and possibly Bivol and Josh Taylor, although both 28 they don't have too many miles on the clock.

 

Glad someone put it back to the boxing, as this thread was really going to ****. Dubois is a decent candidate. He'll actually be fighting the bulk of his career in the decade unlike the others listed. A better thread may have been one involving the best prospects and most likely fighter of the decade, rather than retired fighters like Floyd or fury and co with three fights max left in the decade

if you start from nothing, to measure the first decade, you would start from 12:01 of january 1st, till 12:00 midnight of december of year 9. one decade at year 9, 2 decades at year 19, and so on. midnight of december 31st of year 1, would have seen 2 years gone by. its not that hard.

yes, i understand we went from 1 bc to 1 ad, thats common knowledge, thats why i wrote "IF you start from nothing" when i was trying to illustrate the actual passage of time. the fighter of the decade is awarded in december 2019, not december 2020, so my illustration was suppose to show how my example aligns with that method of measuring decades. i suppose i could have been a bit clearer.

 

is that what the debate was about? i didnt pay much attention, i just figured we were trying to figure out what years the fighter of the decade award covered and why it went to the end of 9 and not 0.
