Lets face it though, Wilder is the biggest fighter in the rankings, and he's the one we all wanna see in a title fight. He's one of the most exciting fighters out there. I know what you're saying about winning, but Joyce and Parker... they've only been winning against garbage opposition. If it was up to me, it would be Ortiz/Ruiz (whoever wins this fight) vs Wilder and Joyce vs Parker... two eliminators to decide the title fight. But in reality, I think Wilder would easily KO either Ortiz or Ruiz. Look the rankings and tell me who on that list is not getting KO'd easily by Wilder? Probably Joyce, maybe Parker and that's it. Everyone else is getting obliterated.
He has retired. In the next week or so the WBC will declare the belt vacant and thats from a very reliable source
Well, I don't quite know why he would. Fury just made a mandatory defense. So he actually doesn't have to fight or defend it again until the end of April 2023. He could still keep his belt and do nothing with it for the next year. A year is a long time. He could fight wrestlers or MMA oppoents in exhibitions and do whatever he wants ... and then retire in April 2023, if he wants. Or, which is more likely, he'll get bored and change his mind. What's he going to do? Stay home and watch a half a dozen kids while his wife makes exercize videos? At least when he's in training camp, he can get away for months at a time, which seems more his speed. Seems like a poor business decision if he retires next week. Holding that belt the whole time won't hurt him financially, but it could likely help. Hell, Lennox Lewis and Muhammad Ali "sold" their title belts to promoters (Lennox sold the IBF belt to Don King in 2002) and (Ali sold the WBA belt to Bob Arum in 1979) before announcing their retirements. Lennox sold his for $1 million and a Range Rover. Ali took $300,000 from Arum. Even old Joe Louis agreed to vacate and in return was cut in as co-promoter of the vacant title fight between Charles and Walcott, and Joe was a terrible businessman. But he knew not to give it up for nothing. Fury should hold onto the belt, whether he wants to fight right away or not, and next year, maybe Eddie Hearn will offer him a pot of gold for it, maybe even just to give it up.
You could't get two better. Parker is pedigreed and Joyce was very active to build up his rating. I guess he's been injured lately, but it is still a good one.
How in Tyson Fury's name is The Bronze Dosser still ranked #1 after coming off back-to-back KO defeats in his own backyard? They were both biblical shellackings and he had a grand total of one good round in the combined 18 rounds of both fights
