But ortiz is better than what the rest of them have beat. Ortiz at 38 is a better victory than Chisora or Takam IMO. Although you can argue who has ortiz beaten. I believe Ortiz would beat both of them via KO.
Wilder remains in the top spot as a reward for paying sanctioning fees to the WBC for years, including against a bogus mandatory in Stiverne II. Shouldn't be that way, but there you have it. Having said that, I wish Usyk/Joshua II would fizzle and Usyk would just sit out the rest of the year and fight Fury in 2023. And that way, perhaps Wilder and Joshua could fight tune-ups this summer and face each other in the fall. That fight would still be huge in the UK. Lots of retreads polluting the top 10 right now. Ortiz, Ruiz, Whyte, Parker, et al. They all need to be flushed out. We know what they can and cannot do at this point. Time for new blood.
Wilder should have to fight the winner of Ortiz vs Ruiz in an eliminator if he wants a title shot. He shouldn't just get a title shot immediately.
The Wilder Bodyguard Council will find a way to get him a vacant shot against an easy opponent. Wilder v Buffet Stiverne 3 awaits
