Who will be remembered as the greater fighter: Pacquiao or Marquez

Definitely not Cotto. He was only 28 years old and had been a winning streak including impressive KO's.

 

Cotto had the prime beat out of him by Margarito and I consider Cotto as being one of Pac's best wins.

 

No he had fully recovered from the Margarito loss. He was a very young fighter and made a complete recovery.

 

You don't recover from a beating like that. Just like Pac never recovered from KTFO 6.

 

Pac 100%. No question.

 

Pac was 33 and slept. Cotto was 27 and ran out of gas. Plenty of fighters have recovered from beatdowns. It's called being under 30 years old. Turn on the NFL on any given Sunday and watch a running back go through essentially a car wreck. They recover year after year until they age.

 

Cotto's beating was much worse than Pac's. Pac just got ktfo. Cotto took a terrible physical beating. Besides, it's more mental than physical. Name another fighter that took a beating like Cotto and wasn't diminished. You can't.

 

Pacquiao took a beating against Morales in the first fight that was completely savage. He came back fine. Tommy Hearns came back from a vicious beating from Leonard. Wlad K came back form 2 pretty bad ass kickings just fine. Like I said it's called being under 30 years old.

 

"Greater" is about accomplishments and Pacquiao accomplished more from a historical perspective. He'll likely be remembered as greater by most, even though their resumes aren't very wide apart. "Better" is a little bit different. He might be regarded as better.

 

None of those beatings were close to what Cotto took from those plaster wraps. lol at Leonard viciously beating Hearns. You must not have saw the fight. Enough of this. Pac is greater but Marquez is Pac's pappy. You just have to deal with it. Chow.

 

True this whole thing about fighters being ruined after wars is very true, but young fighters can and do make total recoveries. It's the guys on the wrong side of 30 who are never the same after taking a beatdown.

 

LOL, no. Hearns was ****ing plastered with a merciless combo that left him rubbery in the legs. He was wobbling around like a drunk man and then Leonard pummeled him more, raised his arms, pummeled more then the ref stops it. I saw it bro.

 

The reason why MAB and Cotto are considered Pac's best wins and Morales II and III isn't is because those guys were on winning streaks, then got a pac ass kicking and then resumed more winning right after the Pac beatdown. Can't take NOTHING away from Pac's wins over MAB and Cotto. That's ridiculous.
