Roy Jones Jr or Manny Pacquiao?

Before Pacfans get all "you're trying to make Manny look bad" here is the reason for the thread and the title.

And then this subsequent post by PacDbest:

So lets find out what the people who will actually be doing the "remembering" think.

Manny has more memorable wars so i will have to say manny, although Roy was Top dog for a long time but new boxing fans will only remeber what u have done lately.

Jones by a mile, the guy has held belts in 4 different divisions, beat the best in his prime, and is on par with Tyson when desribing the most talented, well rounded boxers to ever lace up a pair of gloves. Jones will be more remembered, that I'm sure of.

im gonna go with PAC LOL!!

roy is done... pac, though imo is at the end of the road, isnt... he could still go on to 135 and 140 for all we know and be crazy good.

No im not putting serious stock into this question....

Interesting question within the debate is should Jones not having faced a ton of adversity and having memorable wars be held against him? Or does the fact that he was dominant over his competition the greats, the good guys and the bad ones, trump that (and might be the reason he never faced much adversity). Pacquiao had alot of wars, but he also lost (to a past his prime fighter) and had controversial wins. Should that be held against Pacquiao?

I think Pac faced more adversity and tougher competition...but that's because he was on equal ground with his competition.

Roy was always two levels above his opponents.

what i have to remember pac by

    Pac - MAB
    Pac - JMM
    Pac - JMM 2
    Morales - Pac
    Pac - Morales 2
    Pac - Morales 3

    and for roy

    Roy - Hopkins
    Roy - Toney
    Roy - Ruiz
    Roy - Tarver
    Tarver - Roy 2
    GJ - Roy

and other fights where he has done cool **** like kelly (think it was him.. behind the back knockout) and beating other GOOD fighters but not MEMORABLE ****.

i dont know.... im sure roy will be remembered as a greater fighter because of his talent, but looking back on it people will see that what pac did was great... to ME... JMM, MAB, and Morales.... are on par with any opponent in boxing just about. and pac isnt done (though imo he is)

I certainly respect that. I think what Pacquiao has done has placed him as an ATG.

PacDbest is a delusional fool if he thinks Pac's legacy is greater than RJJ.

    Roy Jones by far.

Losing twice to Juan Manuel Marquez and to old Morales doesn't make you legendary or even comparable to the likes of Roy Jones who made a career out of dominating everyone. I think Roy is overrated H2H, but he's still far more established than Pac.
