he beat close to his prime mab at 126lbs., and he beat a tactician named jmm in a close fight, and he was the first to knock out erik morales (although he was slipping on the 2nd fight) and you still can't consider him great? okay.:hi:
There is more than one way to be great in this sport. The criteria set forth isn't what made someone like Ali great, but additional things that Ali had that Pacquiao hasn't done or Jones for that matter. It wasn't just adversity, but his immense talent and the way he defeated many great fighters, some of which many thought could not be beaten. It was also his once in a lifetime combination of athleticism and talent. His ability to entertain. But also, and this is important, what he did in the ring, who he defeated and how he defeated them. But that is only one definition of greatness, and I certainly wouldn't say "this is the definition of greatness in it's totality". That is what made Ali great. What about a guy like Pernell Whitaker? He is certainly a legend and great. But what makes him great is not what made Ali great. This is the problem with the article. Handpicked criteria, and claiming it as THE criteria for greatness. I also don't believe his past prime debacles really diminish anything. MAB didn't try to win against Pacquiao. If Jones had been beaten in his prime, then didn't try and comeback, then I would certainly agree with you. But sometimes you're number is up, and no matter how much you talk, when you get in the ring, you can't pull the trigger. I do agree Pacquiao is more of a warrior. But I think it's rather convenient to use it as a definition of greatness, as it clearly favors certain fighters, but then ignore other definitions of greatness which would favor other fighters and diminish Pacquiao's. The author of the article clearly hand seleced his definition to meet the attributes of his favorite fighter.
Roy's resume is actually really awesome, but it's being more appreciated now thanks to the fact that we can look back and analyse the fighters and what not. A couple of his fights were against sub-par class opponents, but most were quite good and some were excellent. I also don't get why he gets no credit for the dominant Ruiz win, Hopkins couldn't have done that.
Well you obviously couldn't beat me at english. :rofl And no, you wouldn't beat me at anything. What further education do you have? I have two degrees at one of THE top univerisities (though I'm not quite finished, due to the following), with a very, very high average. I've also had an internship at the finance department of the biggest company in the world - quite a learning experience. You, beat me at maths? Plllllease. And I've already explained my point regarding the Philippines education system, however, considering you're from the USA... actually it's not much better. :rofl And what's with you persisting that Marquez is "my boy"? My boy is De La Hoya. My boy is Dale Thomas, and Scott Pendlebury, and Alan Didak. I didn't like Marquez, until after Saturday. I still much prefer Pacquiao to Marquez, and think he is a better fighter. Nonetheless, Marquez has the edge in their head to head matches in my view. It's quite hilarious seeing you parading how smart you are etc., when in reality you debate like a 6 year old. Posting nothing my pictures and emotions, littering the rest of your post with incoherent "sentences". Please, by all means, continue embarassing yourself with your pathetic posts that wreak of ignorance and immaturity, it does nothing but make your fellow Pac-fans go slightly red in the face. You know who else is "my boy". Torrecampo. Well, not "my boy" as such, but I like him... [YT]lNdhQDD6PHs[/YT] Whoopsy! Good to see my boy laying your boy out, FOR THE COUNT! :rofl :rofl :rofl

HAHAHAHA :rofl :rofl American Universities are superior than yours. Trust me specially in science. :good BTW, you can look at my website so you'll understand. I dont have to look yours. It will be no contest and please, dont dig youtubes clip in the past where pac was a teenage guy, bare bones, with nothing to eat specially when he was hit by a low blow. let us live the moment when our boy is on their prime and hit your prime bf like this... By the time Pac is done, he might have a stronger case. As it is now, their legacies are kinda different. Most would rate Holmes higher than Tyson on ATG lists but Tyson will sure as hell be remembered more as the better h2h fighter. Pac will have his resume and great power/speed when he ends his career to be remembered by, RJJ will be remembered as a freak of nature who was indeed "superman" in his prime.
