Roy Jones in his prime was Jesus with boxing gloves. He was unbeatable in the the 90s and early '00s

He said TOP it....not do it.

Basically, Pacquiao would have to win a Jr MW trinket to do it. Jones came in under the CW limit and beat a HW. Yes, Pacquiao has moved up in weight, but it has always been a natural progression. His start from flyweight is only because he was 16 (Jones would been a LW at 16, at least he was in the amateurs) and his true size as a man was at 122. Since then he has moved up when he has gotten too big for his weight class. That's why he is having trouble making weight at 130 now. Jones literally moved up in weight to HW to fight someone much bigger without ever actually being near that weight.

CW is 190, right? And Jones weighed in at 192. This was even an error b/c there was a mistake by the man operating the scale (There is a youtube vid about this someone else posted). Roy weighed right at 200.

More importantly, Pac beating a 154 lbs belt holder would maybe be like Roy dominating Lennox at the time, not John Ruiz. I'd give Pac the same credit as Roy or more if he beat a 140 lbs belt holder.

Jones weighed 199 that night, at least that is what he has always insisted. And the CW limit is 200, though I am unsure of what it was then.

Why would Pacquiao beating 154 title holder be like Jones beating Lewis? Jones was never a true LHW, and was always outweighed on fight night. He would come in at 179-181 tops usually wheras his opponents were 185 or higher. Pacquiao has been bigger than every 130 opponent he has faced, weighing in at 140 or over in each of those fights (I am pretty sure of this, a Pacquiao fan would have to concur). Jones never fought at LHW and weighed in near CW or HW on fight night.

My point is, Pacquiao would need to move up to a sufficient weight where he was actually the much smaller man and beat a beltholder there. Perhaps 154 was too far. WW would suffice. But not 140. He weighs more than that on fight night at 130, (145 against JMM), even if it is rehydrated. He is now a natural LW according to him, just a small one. Jones was a natural small LHW at his peak and jumped two weight classes to fight a belt holder. Pacquiao would need to do the same.

I'll remember RJJ as a great fighter in terms of skills during his prime . . . I'll remember Pacquaio as a great fighter in terms of excitement.

    Overall . . . RJJ over Pac.
