We know we can't have a fight if both fighters are wanting to be the counterpuncher?

So who of the two will be making the fight happen? Who is the better aggressor?

    UHHHHHHHHH

JMM I suppose, it won't be an action fight, that is for sure.

Then agian Floyd may lead, he needs to be impressive for PPV numbers.

I think it will be Marquez too. His style gives itself to foreward movement better than Mayweather's.

If Juan presses the action then he either gets outboxed for the majority or stopped late. He needs to do everything in his power to get Floyd to engage him, because he is most effective on the back foot. As evidenced against Casamayor and Juan Diaz, he is very open when he tries to press the action. It worked for him against those fighters, but Floyd is a different assignment and a step up in class even from those world class operators.

For some reason I have a hunch that Mayweather will actually come out and attack more than he's accustomed to. With Marquez being the smaller guy, Mayweather wanting to prove that "he's back", and after witnessing what Pac did to Hatton, I think that he might just try to come out and make an early statement against JMM.

I agree with you Beenie. I think Mayweather will come forward & try to beat Marquez decisively.

If Mayweather becomes the aggressor, he is playing with serious fire. JMM is a better straight up counterpuncher than him textbook, while he relies on reflex.

If Floyd manages to avoid JMMs patented left/right/left upper all night. I bow down to him. Its never been done. Nacho will commit suicide

I really hope I'm right because it will only add to the hype of a Pac-PBF showdown. :good

A little bit from both, that's how a counter puncher vs counter puncher usually is.

Mayweather taking on a smaller guy + Marquez looking to fight smart on the backfoot = Mayweather should be the aggressor. However, Marquez is a warrior, and when he gets nailed a few times I can see him getting impatient and becoming the aggressor. If he wants to win the fight, he needs to either fight on the back foot, or attack hard and fight on the inside. He's a very clever fighter and is effective in close. But he can't afford to fight moving forward at long-range!

I think both Marquez will fight when he has to and Floyd will fight when he has to, I see a big game of chess in this fight on wrong move Check Mate.

JMM has been aggressive his last half-dozen fights. As he's gotten older and his reflexes have dulled he relies less on precise counterpunching and initiates a hell of a lot more, counting on winning the exchanges.
