Why does all the hate for Khan come from people in his own country, I really don't get it.

Khan personality leaves something to be desired...

    lets just say that.

More reasons to hate him except from personality and chin:

    - Unwarranted PPV status.
    - Boring fights.
    - Biggest terd of a promoter.
    - We have better prospects.
    - Getting title shots when he doesn't deserve them.
    - and more...

So a **** chin IS a good reason to hate someone, you're saying? hahahah.

-If you get put on PPV, would you turn it down? Ofcourse not.

-Boring? lol. Maybe Kotelnik was one of his most boring fights.. but other than that, he's generally active enough to be 'exciting'. He was exciting enough to enthrall the nation and get so many ppl watching him for free on ITV again & again & again - was he not? Ppl who didn't give a horse's **** about Boxing.. or even sport!

-Yes, but again.. is that his fault or any reason to hate Amir as a person or as a boxer? If you hate Warren.. hate Warren... I don't like him either. But similarly, disliking Bob Arum is no automatic reason to dislike every one of his fighters? Warren =/= his fighters. They are separate entities. You do realize that, right?

-Arguably.. but idk, in terms of potential for remembered greatness.. it may well be Amir who could become Britain's first 4-weight world champion with a lotta hard work & some luck.

-So you're saying he shouldn't make the most of an opportunity he's given?

    -

His latest PPV was the lowest selling PPV in years.

Everyman and his dog watches ITV4 boxing because the state of saturday night TV in britian is equivalent to a poke in the eye with a blunt stick.

And yes, his fights have been boring, apart rom when he is getting floored by blown up super featherweights and featherweights.

    Nice editing ;/

Did you just mention Amir Khan as a potential 4-weigh world champ?!?!? :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

His next fight will probably be against a 10 year past it Morales, that is a joke in itself and enough to dislike him.

Amir's fights were ITV3. That's how good his ratings were at the time.

    PPV is another matter, though.
Even Ricky's fight vs. Pacquiao didn't do too well.
While for Floyd, he did over a million... (according to Floyd atleast).

and re: blownup superfeathers & feathers -- willie limond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :good

  11. JuanMa looked really sloppy in his last fight. He was obviously the stronger man and the better boxer, but he didnt fight well. He was getting hit way too much. He fought brashly, almost arrogantly. Thats the best way to ruin a good career. Yori Boy's lack of defense ruined him and his career. He should have won against Trinidad but he got arrogant. I saw the same thing in JuanMa last time he fought. If Lontchi had more power who knows what might have happened.

-yeah, i had to as i missed the prospects point.. -- the reply-points wouldn't have lined up properly.

re: Amir becoming multi-weight world champ.

I'm not saying he'd be a Shane Mosley.. facing & beating all the best.

But he can still boil back down to 135 & win a title then vacate.

& by the time he goes up to 147.. the likes of Mosley, Floyd & co. will be gone. There will be Berto.. who he will avoid. And Cotto will be old enough for Roach & Frank Warren to feel safe enough to put in a ring with Amir.

then 154 will be dry too... & he'd only have to beat a joke-champ.
    Why not?

it is possible in this scenario which will come to pass that he pickups titles in 4 weights.

that's boxing today is it not!

I, unlike most others here, will admit that I hadn't seen him before V. Ortiz.
I could've watched him vs. Kotelnik but chose not to & didn't want to make time at a later date.

He flew right under most of our radars until recently. He certainly is one person I wouldn't like Amir to fight.

You mean ITV 1, but ye, that was ages ago and it wasn't down to Khan that they changed it.

Fact is Khan probably wont get those title shots as he will be exposed by a half decent opponent (if he, warren and roach actually decide to fight one which is highly unlikely).

Anyway, Linares should be on this poll because he is clearly the winner.

Yeah, man, soz... pretty damn tired today.

He can beat many ppl.. it's just a matter of being a tense night for his family, Roach & Frank Warren whenever he boxes... and i'm talking about even those non-ko artists / non-big punchers.... -- when you've been downed by non-punching superfeathers.. says it all, dunt it!

Yep he should be on. But I think JuanMa is the clear winner... key-thing being his frame will certainly allow him to shoot up the weights... he's the one likeliest to amass so many titles in so many weights to be one day, perhaps, comparable to DLH & Pacman in terms of being a decorated champion! Amir's got a shot.. but much less likely... even if he manages to avoid enough people... at best he will only be a 3 weight champ.. or 4 with lotta luck. While still great, compared to the 4-5-6 potential of the likes of JuanMa & Linares... + the fact that they have good chins... well, tough luck, Amir!

I love how V. Ortiz had so many nuthuggers. Sure the guy has charisma, is likeable & has an exciting style. But he ain't gon reach half the heights of Oscar... despite how he's being built up.

oh & this poll was made quite a while back, maybe 2 months almost, and I did forget a few ppl. Linares being a highly notable one.

Though again, I was trying to gage levels of love for the more famous up n comers who get lotta love on these boards in diff. areas (JuanMa, Amir, Gamboa, V. Ortiz -- these 4 primarily).

we got a fair few prospects in Britain who could be mentioned.
Hell, our prospects... coming from our small little island (in comparison to the big land-mass of N.America) are better than those currently being produced in America. Sure, ours don't get the same love & hype... and get constantly bashed stateside.... but in time, they'll be proven wrong =].
