In the 70's you had Ali
In the 80's you had Tyson, or Sugar Ray Leonard.
in the 90's you had De la Hoya

So who will be fighter of this decade?

TO CLARIFY, A fighter of the decade IS NOT NECESSARILY the best fighter. It is the fighter who had big fights, that had alot of fans, that was in big events, and that did accomplish a a little bit as well.

So who will be fighter of this decade? Will it be De la Hoya for 2 decades in a row? Or can Mayweather take it? what about Pacquiao, Hopkins, Mosley or Taylor, they are on good starts

If Miguel Cotto continues to fight like he does, destroying whats in front of him, he stands a good chance of captivating the publics imagination.

For big events, I'd say Oscar, again.

But for my choices of fighter of the decade, which is about who is the best fighter and achieves the most (not who is the most popular), it would be:

    70s: Duran, followed by Monzon.
80s: not sure. I had made a list in the Classic Forum but the boards crashed.
    90s: Whitaker, I guess.
    00s: Pacquiao or Mayweather.

Depends what PBF & Pac do in the last 3 years. I got a feeling PBF is winding his career down this year whilst Pac will just run through some big names in the next 3 years.

I would rank Hatton slightly higher than Vicious Boxer.

One think is for sure, VB has a much better idea for how to work public relations and the press. Ricky has a long way to go in this respect. Just listen to VB´s quote after a an intense sparring session while preparing for his 1st proffesional fight:

"I got down with this big mother****er, you know what I'm saying. We got each other, you know, I got him the first one, he got me the second one. You know I've been getting down a lot. So if you fools want to get down, you know what I'm saying. You knwo where to find me." -VB

Hmm, good question...one of the following

Manny Pacquiao - If he cleans out 130 and beats Juan Diaz
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. - If he beats Cotto, Hatton, Mosley, and maybe another top 147 pounder
Miguel Cotto - If he continues to destroy every one in front of him
Juan Manuel Marquez - If he beats Pacquiao, Soto, Guzman, Valero, and maybe wins a 135 title
Rafael Marquez - If he cleans out 122 and wins a title or two at 126

When Tyson comes back and unifies he will get that honour again, i heard he is getting into 1988 shape so i think he can do it.
