That's all you got.. really? Weak. Had he fought some Mirandas, Brinkleys, Magees in a 2-3 year span where the S6 never existed, I'd bash Interbox for not making him step up. Reality is, ****face, Froch & Kessler were in Bedard's rifle scope as post-Andrade II opponents, just weeks before Showtime held the S6 presser. The S6 slowed his progression down opposition wise, and there's nothing he or we can do about it... you ***** about it, so what does that make you?! A *****. :smoke http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=8550623 - post 97, see West's translation of the interview 175 is miles behind 168 in terms of depth/quality.
Martinez is fast but think about how Hopkins did slow Jean Pascal down. Bute would do the same thing. A couple of good bodyshots and Martinez would lose his speed. Anyway, Martinez doesn't call Bute, he goes the other way around, towards the lower divisions. Martinez is small MW, he can't compete with big SMW.
if he moves to 175 the haters will say he ducks the deepest devision to fight Cloud ? How is to fight at 175 right now ?
I suspect they'll stick him in the with Froch after the S6 because his handlers will feel that he can beat Froch who is (apparently) slow and crude and will be a top win credibility wise. Froch will then absolutely ****ing cabbage him.
Six years from now in 2017, 36 year old Lucian Bute will be hurt and dropped in the 1st round against a 52 year old Bernard Hopkins at the Bell Centre in Montreal. This will be Lucian's 40th fight and his 40th consecutive fight at the Bell Centre with the same ref and three judges. Lucian will win on activity as a tired BHOP lands the cleaner shots but doesn't train sufficiently and tires in the later half of the fight. Bute will receive a split decision win. Lucian (a valedictorian and graduate (summa cum laude) of the Calzaghe School of Career Management and Fight Matchmaking) is now undefeated in 40 professional fights over fourteen years. He is most known for the prior five year period in which he cleaned up all the local toughmen contest winners and beer brawl fighters throughout the northern US and Canada. Most famously, Lucian was tarred in the world press for having fights with several aging super middleweights all fall through due to various hand injuries, a divorce, and a homosexual episode. Instead of these fighters a local toughman was always his opponent as tune up fight after tune up fight continued to be the only contests that ever materialized. From retirement, ex-fighters like Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler, and Jean Pascal called for the Romanian to grow a pair (all had been on the docket but had fights fall through for one reason or the other). Prior SMW champ and current LHW beltholder, 31 year old Andre Ward, said after having Bute postpone three proposed fights he was moving up to take on the cruiser weight champ in a one off attempt at garnering another accolade/belt. Said Ward from Vegas, "that fight was terrible, now his record shows he has wins over three greats, he's got a SD over a 52 year old BHOP, three years ago, he got that dec over a 44 year old RJJ, and two years ago, he got that controversial SD over Glen Johnson who was 45." Interviewed from the Bell Centre last night, Bute said it was tough deserved win and he required a decent break to recharge now. He stated he would sit down with his team and if no one else was ready he would direct his reps to begin talks with semi-retired cattle rancher 43 year old Danny Green for a fight in Australia at a 170 lb catch weight. --- On a side note, the Bell Centre has completed a forty foot ice statue of Lucian Bute that will stand at the entrance to the skating venue for the next three months. --- A new wing will be built soon at the Calzaghe School of Career Management in Cardiff honoring its most prestigious and accomplished graduate. A twelve metre statue will be erected of undefeated SMW, Lucian Bute.
Not bad of a prediction from December, although I think Bute-Dirrell happens in June/July if it ever does. AFAIK Dirrell is still contractually bound with Showtime; Pavlik won't be ready for June/July, same for the loser of Froch-Johnson (they both fight in May). Bute is fighting in March, Dirrell might be fighting in April. Kessler could also fight Bute in the summer, but so far his people haven't spoken of a Bute fight -- where as Bute & Larouche both said they wanted Kessler by the end of the year. Kessler might be able to secure a belt in a fight vs Stieglitz or Sartison, and that fits the Sauerland way. As far as Dirrell schooling Bute however, I don't see it. The difference in speed and footwork is not as dramatic as most ESBers make it to be. KO ability on the other hand is Bute's thing... Dirrell better not display any glass heart behavior in the ring if Bute ends up catching him up with power lefts a couple times. Now anticipating trolling activity from either fatcity, MrMagic or iceman71. Simultaneous trolling is also a possibility. BTW I LOL'ed a lot at the made up story (re: sillynanny), that was entertaining. :smoke
