Wlad is pretty much in his prime right now. For the next 2-3 years I don't see anyone beating him barring some unseen one punch knockout. And thats never a safe bet. What will eventually get Wlad is going to be age. By the time he hits his mid 30s that top shelf handspeed of his will be diminishing. Then the whole desire factor will be kicking in as well. As for Haye beating Klits, nope aint happening.
this is an excellent post. people always say he lost to purrity, sanders, and Brewster in his prime. that is bull****. his prime is now, 06-current he is gonna be a hard man to beat because he is always focused and in tremendous shape so an upset is less likely. Lennox sometimes came in unfocused and out-of shape and it cost him bigtime against Hasbeen Rahman if someone takes him down, it will be a stoppage by a big puncher
I thought Chambers gave him too much trouble. The jury is still out on him, in my book anyways. The way guys rep Povetkin...a destruction of Chambers should have occured. He's gonna need to do something to gather some momentum in his title run to defeat WLAD...or become a complete nobody.
id go with Peter and Virchis. Peter's chances are slipping though. His conditioning is far worse and his style is more conservative than when the 2 first met Chagev is too passive and one-dimesional. He's a counter-puncher. can't see it
That's a honest post I can agree on right there. It is hard to imagine him never losing again I agree, but for me it gets easier with each passing victory. One thing is for certain, there really isn't any style of fighter that Wlad hasn't faced & beaten.
i think povetkin could do it.Brock and ibragimov brought in reputations as boring fighters against klitschko.Povetkin has a high workrate for a heavyweight and considerable skill therefore i think he could win a decision over wlad.
i have a feeling his workrate will be neutralized by wlad's movement, jab, and mastery of distance. i just dont see the power to get the job done. he also swells up like a raccoon :yep
Tony Thompson - Probably too old & inexperienced to put up much of a fight although he does have the fundamentals and size. Alexander Povetkin - Gets hit too easily vs. lesser competition, it will be an exciting fight but Povetkin's getting KO'd for sure. Sam Peter - Sam's jab has improved but I still haven't seen any straight power punches and those hooks are telegraphed & his power & chin are a bit overrated. Wlad will be pissed off this time & he'll finish him off. Ruslan Chagaev - Tough but how's he going to get around that jab & how many flush power shots can he take before he breaks? Nikolai Valuev - I doubt Klitschko can KO Valuev unless the ref steps in. It would be interesting to see how Wlad copes with being the smaller guy by a lot for the first time though................. David Haye - Cruiserweight power & Heavyweight power are 2 different things. As far as chins go, see above. Haye was hurt by Mormeck, Wlad will put him to sleep. Somebody else - Best option if he does lose before he retires. It's kinda hard to tell if Arreola, Walker, Solis, Fields, etc. are really any good until they step up their competition. Chances are at least 1 of them is good enough to contend for a title. Wlad will retire without losing again - I voted for this option because I believe Wlad has hit his peak and he'll remain there for a few years. He'll retire if he doesn't think he can win. Unfortunately he'll probably retire within 5 or so years, maybe 10-12 fights in that time.
I don't believe any of the names on your list will beat Vlad. But what about Odlanier Solis? Solis is just beginning his career, and he may turn out to be a real world beater. Who knows how good Solis will be two or three years from now.
