Gypsy Rose Corrie agrees with you.

I notice a lot of people dismiss Corrie Sanders as a bum. But on any given night Sanders was good enough to give any heavyweight a tough fight. His chin was granite, very awkward fighter with a lethal left hand. But his conditioning was poor. Regardless those punches that he was nailing Vitail with would of KO'd any other fighter at that time. Well maybe not Ray Mercer because I don't care what anybody says Mercer had the best chin of any heavyweight ever.

Sanders had done ZERO roadwork and little sparring for that fight, and it showed in the later rounds. Even early his timing wasn't down pat. Credit to Rahman too, who I reckon could be a very dangerous opponent when he put his mind to it.

:good Excellent post. Sanders' conditioning was poor in the latter half of his career. Prime he could go 12 with ease. He also beat lots of guys faster than the more lauded heavyweights.

And I agree about Mercer. You'd have to take a baseball bat to him to knock him out, and even then you better have a spare ;)

aha swapping prime for retired for just one example in history of boxing. on planet K this happens only to explain why wlad lost, and never used elsewhere in history.

Nah, he'd been semi retired for years. No excuses though, it's still a shameful performance that he only outlasted Lennox by 2 rounds against Rahman.

Hasim was smart enough not to give him a rematch. Lennox was smart enough to never give him a crack in the first place, as the Wlad fight eventually showed. If Corrie took a more durable fighter like Wlad out that early, it'd have truly been a nightmare until naptime if Lewis and his despicable sugar glass mandible took the challenge.

More durable than "1 Right Hand to Dreamland" Lewis, I'm afraid. This is why he gets knocked out at a lower rate than Lennox while having a longer, more active career.

Yes and fighting much better opponents .you wouldn't see Vlad getting knocked out oh no.Chops like concrete old Vlad.No way any second rate HW s would KO him in his back yard impossible. Glad we sorted that out.
