With Oscar gone, and the media interest and money he generated also gone, who will be the new Golden Boy of boxing?

    Juanma Lopez perhaps?

I see Vic Ortiz being the one with the best chances to come close to that feat in today's world of pro boxing...

No one. ODLH is the last true Superstar of the sport. He has the greatest name and face recognition of any boxer of the last 20 years, I doubt any American boxer will ever equal him and what he did in the coming years. Maybe another Gold Medal winner with star qualities, highly unlikely though

Tyson is his equal, but in infamy, not fame.

And Tyson was a heavyweight, giving him far more recognition world-wide...

You may well be right. I don't think anyone will reach the heights of ODLH anytime soon, but I do think a new star will emerge. Probably Juanma Lopez.

JuanMa is no US-American (though, Puerto Rican) and won't even make it to welterweight whereas Ortiz could probably go up to 160...he has the DLH background (Hispanic), he has the look and he's well-spoken...

Ortiz is possibility, yeah. Juanma isn't an American, but remember he is touted as the new Felix Trinidad, and Tito was every bit as popular as ODLH back in the late 1990's.

As long as the new Golden Boy isn't some chump like Andre Berto I'll be happy
