Your correct his Uppercut is so great he shocks himself with it. Watch Vlad vs Austin for a fight in which vlad doesn't even have to use his right hand.
All these up and coming heavyweights appear somewhat limited in their potential future impact as they are inevitably being compared to Wlad Klitschko. As a previous poster mentioned, Wlad is an all time great heavyweight and these young guns coming up have very big shoes to fill. Will any of these guys win as many titles as Wlad, dominate for nearly a decade, fight and win not just every fight but nearly every round for the last decade. These young contenders appear so weak and unheralded because they are being compared against a backdrop of historical greatness. Hell, Wlad is still fighting and dominating at 38. He is threatening to overtake the legendary Joe Louis's record of longest reigning heavyweight champ. IMO, Joshua seems to have the most potential, learning quickly, great amateur cred, and tremendous power. Usyk is fast and very polished but will he have the power to compete with huge fighters like Joshua, Wilder or even Tyson Fury. Time will tell.
Yeah, Povetkin is more likely to bcome a stepping-stone for the generation that will take over after Wlad retires.
Don't like being too hard on wilder but Joshua's first year competition is comparable to wilder competition last year
Yeah, he has all the tools. Athleticism, size, and hes still young by HW standards. Hes also perfectly positioned to just move right in when Wlad retires.
Oh yeah, I forgot that Wlad wants to be in the game until he's 40 or so (inspired by Hopkins last interview I read). I forgot about that. Still, I think he would beat Pulev if they ever fought, and Pulev is considered the number 2 at the moment.
At least the Wilder situation seems like it is going to be sorted out by the end of the year. It took Audley Harrison a while to play his cards. In some ways have to give some credit to David Price ... Tony Thompson in fight 16 is a tough test. He's come back with a win over Pala and went a full 10 rounds in his most recent fight. Really don't know if Wilder has 10 rounds in him.
He went over that... he sayd he wants to keep fighting for another decade :?!! Don't know if he was joking, probably, because there's no way to keep fighting at the top at 48 years old!
