he's strong, but has slow reflexes, and a suspect chin.

He didnt fare well against an Old mediocre Jose Cotto, and almost got KO'd in the 1st round.

Imagine if he had fought a better fighter that night??:think

Mares is a superior fighter to Canelo.

As for Soto, he is God like, he'd beat a prime Hagler. ;)

A couple youngsters of Mexican descent come to mind. With proper development, the sky is the limit for these guys:

    Jose Benavidez

    Ray Ximenez

    No. They are average.

    So is Soto.

    Canelo is promising

No one at the moment makes me think they can be a great like MAB, Morales, or Chavez(definitely not like Chavez).

I see a few fighters who can be pretty good and they've been listed: Mares, Canelo, and Segura, but none of those guys make me think MAB, Morales, or Chavez. We can only wait and see.

I'm not wowed by either of these guys, the only one I even remotely see going places is Alvarez.

Benavidez but I'm not sure if you can consider him to belong in the lower weights. He is pretty big and might retire at SMW.

as of right now given the potential i would say alvarez. angulo had a great shot but his absence is hurting him. Soto will never be a great. too many losses and frankly just not that amazing.
