Who will be the next lineal heavyweight champion?

Usyk is going to remain king for at least a couple of years.
If he could and moved down to 200lbs, I´d say he would reign into his mid 40s. The only reason he can´t do so at heavyweight is due to lack of size, which will catch up to him as he ages.

But if no one beats Usyk and he retires then the Saudi´s will likely finance another undisputed champion soon enough.

 

Based on how many upsets we have seen recently... I have no idea, it could be anyone.
But I don´t think it will be anyone who is currently widely considered to be in the top 10.

 

Hopefully they will put together a big tournament that leads to an undisputed champion. I think something like that will happen.

I think Dubois has a good chance but I still give it less then 50%. Really hard to tell.

Fury possibly but Dubois is taking no prisoners and he’s only 27.

 

As things stand if Usyk retires Dubois is probably getting promoted with no controversy. That doesn't mean Dubois would be the best HW or that things didn't just fall the right way for him but right now he is the "heir".

If Dubois is taken out of the picture prior to Usyks retirement it really depends how the stars align. Given how clogged the division is theres a ton of possibilitys. But of those I think Kabayel is the most likely.

Normally when this situation has occured the lineal champ has been undisputed. If you have a credible alphabet champ you don't need a 1 v 2 you just make them the champ.

 

#1 v #3 will do as well. That's how Klitschko became lineal after all.

If Usyk beats Fury again, Fury would drop down the rankings. So if Usyk retires, that would leave Dubois as #1. It's difficult to predict who would be #2 and #3. Right now Parker, Kabayel, and Zhang are all candidates for those positions, so Dubois could end up fighting one of them to become lineal.

Personally, I prefer undisputed to create a new lineage, but I don't make the rules. Then again, who does...?

 

You only need to beat AJ to become a king ? WTF people ? Usyk beats him and he is the greatest, now it's Dubois. You need to chill with that hype

 

The Lineal Title is passed from holder to holder (the man who beat the man) so as Usyk is the Lineal Title holder now who ever beats him will be the next holder and so on and so on . If Usyk retires unbeaten then a box off or the fighter most deserving is bestowed with it but only if the line has been broken.

I think usyk wins the rematch. I'm not sure if he continues on. Maybe a Dubois rematch interests him though I can see him struggle to be excited for it.

Right now there are some very good but flawed fighters floating around as contenders. I can see the title being passed around.

Thinking Dubois gets the title first if usyk wins and retires. If usyk sticks around and defeats Dubois again I don't think Daniel is next if usyk retires after. Wonder if turky would do a tournament like bakole Zhang Parker and kabayel vying for the vacant title
