It's wide open but Dubois looks as good a bet as anyone.

Let's hope number 1 and number 2 square off even with 1 belt on the line.

Everyone is pretty hyped up with Dubious.
It's amazing how one win and a media hype train can make history vanish.
He was stopped by an old Joyce who was never great. Zhang utterly destroyed Joyce twice. And Uysk KO'd Dubious. Usyk rarely KO's HWs.
In other words, Dubious is likely to get stopped again by a HW puncher.

He beat old AJ, that's basically it. The Croat never beat a true top fighter, Zhang was around 40.
I remember when Ruiz beat prime AJ and everyone thought he was a master boxer with heavy hands. Turns out he was just a game fat man who never beat any top fighter ever again.
Dubious is better than the obese LHW, but that doesn't mean he's great.

Probably Uysk or Fury retire if they have the lineal before getting defeated. None of them want to lose to an inferior fighter just because they're old and they know they're on the way out. So the belts probably scatter again and all these 'warrior' boxers dodge each other for years and never unify. Look how long it took after Wlad and Fury retired because of AJ and Wilder.

What you've misunderstood though is beating an old AJ is better than anything anyone else has done.

    Parker beat an old Zhang
    Zhang beat an old Wilder
    Chisora beat an old Joyce
    Bakole beat a green Anderson
    Wardley beat a green Clark
    Kabayel beat a green Sanchez

I wouldn't call Sanchez green. Makhmoudov maybe. But not Sanchez. Parker also beat Wilder.

But I agree Dubois has the best body of work recently.

I wouldn't really dismiss any of them as old or green tbh. It was a satirical reply.

Difficult question because Usyk ain't gonna lose at HW unless he stays around too long. To be the next lineal champ they'd have to establish a new lineage and honestly I don't think anyone is good enough to grab all 4 belts again. Every HW that is in the top 20 (Usyk excluded), could lose to someone else in the top 20.

My position is that whoever is the next lineal is not in the current rankings..................

If Usyk leaves soon the next lineal is almost certainly in the current rankings because climbing the ladder takes a long time.

****ing Jalolov better make his move soon. He's a possibility ... but just as likely to miss his window of opportunity messing around year after year.

I absolutely agree with you, it does take a long time. that combined with, I don't believe the alphabets are gonna allow another undisputed unification in our foreseeable future, and everyone of note has an Achilles heel that can be exploited by someone just leads me to believe we aren't getting another lineal guy for a long time. Once Usyk is gone #1 and 2 are gonna have to fight and I just don't see it happening. Hell, look at what it took for #1 and 2 to fight in this era, damn near a decade right there.

They don't need to collect all 4 belts tho. We're looking for the new lineal, not undisputed champion.

    Fates twist and Wilder returns

I'm kidding, I think Danny is the only dude aged and placed correctly. Maybe Agit? I dunno how old he is but I was shocked when I found out so many of these HWs who came up in the past few years are old dudes.

Dubios is good, but he isn't invincible. Man has been stopped twice by jabs.
